I played the game. The OP gave it a good review and was honest and fair, nothing overly negative IMO. Brad himself admits the game was released in beta shape and still is. I am one of at least a few that won't be resubscribing come the 28th.
The problem is that your reasons for "blowing other mmos away" are the same reasons it is flawed. The graphics do look nice I will give you that. On the other hand, yes the world is huge, but it is lacking content because it is so big. The fact that there are many races and classes make balancing have so many issues. In PVE Tanks do almost the same damage as offensive fighters. In pvp the game will never be balanced because of how powerful healing is even after the supposed nerfs. The game does not run well and it is poorly optimised. I was fortunate enough to have it run just fine for me but I know this is not the case for a majority of people.The combat is just pressing buttons. I cast a spell and move a little. I cast a spell and move a little. You spam your best attacks. Crafting does not take actual effort, you just click a couple of extra buttons that slow down the process. It is still easy to create grade A items. Once you hit a certain level the quests start to dry up this is why many players who hit 40 just grind to 50 and they have complained there is not enough content to keep them playing. It is great you like the game, and there is nothing wrong with that, but at the same time you have to admit when there are flaws. There was a rollback issue, there was a log in and be dead issue, there was a party loot wouldn't work issue, there are players getting stuck in land all over the time issue. There are many flaws because the game had to get released so early. SOE did not want to let Sigil have anymore money and they told them to just publish the game in its beta state, and that is exactly what they did. At the same time you shouldn't just tell people to buy the game, just like others should not be saying do not buy the game. The only answer you should give is how you feel about the game, and tell them to get a free trial. OK, I'll tackle it and show you that *gasp* everything you say, very nearly, is OPINION. Just like the OPs review is. Keep in mind- this is coming from someone with a current subscription, and a player since mid beta.
1.Graphics look great- Opinion. They're good. But not nearly as good as LOTRO.
2. The world is huge- I'll give you that. But so is Dark and Light, it may be bigger. That doesn't make it any good.
3. Many races and classes- which are just like the races and classes in every other game. Healers are the only one with any difference. Kudos there. Most of the races are repetitive and silly. See, opinion enters again.
4. The game runs pretty well- absolutely false in comparison to every last one of it's competitors. I personally don't have many problems, but 9 out of 10 people have serious issues. Sigil has freely admitted performance isn't good.
5. Combat is quite fun- opinion. It's exactly like every other MMO on the market. There's not much that can be done differently. I almost go to sleep with my Ranger, just like combat in every other MMO out there.
6. Boats and housing- they're there, but utterly and completely useless. Who cares.
7. Crafting takes effort- I'll give you that. I'll also add that it's tedious, and pure suckage of the highest degree. The markets are flooded and you can't sell anything for more than it costs to make. Nothing ever wears out- so there is no repeat market for anything.
8. Character models look good- Mostly, yes. The wood elves are atrocious. But they are acceptable. Opinion rears it's ugly head...sensing a trend here?
9.Many quests- Big deal. Every game has hundreds and hundreds of quests.
Nothing there stands out over any other game. Not one single thing. For everyone shouting that it runs great and has no problems, there are 90 having issues- issues the developer willingly admits to. They have come straight out and said it doesn't run well. They have come out and said it's nowhere near finished and still isn't in a condition fit for release. They have admitted they needed 2 ot 3 more months to get Vanguard ready.
I play the game, yes. I have played every major MMO since 1999, and I am not exaggerating. Vanguard is no better than the rest. It's really no worse. There are about 3 people on the planet who would say it's a finished, polished, next gen product, and a few hundred thousand who will tell you what I just did, and about a few thousand who swear it's the spawn of Satan himself. Now- do you see why no one takes you seriously? Why you come off as a ranting, screaming lone voice?
It's because you ARE a lone voice. Even people who play and enjoy the game realize it's about half completed.

plenty of quests to do. lots of exploring to do and the content is there if you take the time to enjoy it. lots of races and classes to choose from. there are boats and houses. you can even do diplomacy or questing and not even have to adventure. there are lot of options. if you try to grind and grind to get to level 50 as quickly as possible you will get bored. that applies to any mmos.

simply the best graphics i have ever seen in any mmo to date. given the right system the view is absolutely fantastic. character models are pretty and animations are smooth.

pretty good sound although i turn mine off most of the time because i just do. but what is there is good. music is good if you listen to it and the ambient sound effects are there and help you get immersed in this vast world.
performance: 8
although many people complain that the game is unplayable, it is not true. like i said you need a good system to run this game. if you do, then you won't find any game breaking performance issues. you will get a slight pause if you are zoning into another zone because the game was made to zone without loading screens. i personally prefer this.

everyone i met in game are helpful and friendly. i have an awesome guild and people i met are always trying to help or looking to group just to have fun.
overall score: 9
it is a great game given the good system to run it you will enjoy it alot. there are many many contents yet to be released and the game still has a lot of things to do. it will only get better.

I like the game. I played and still play. I have a lvl 24, armorsmith 15 and 50+ diplomacy on Varking. BUT, i can see that there is bugs in the game and that it is not polished as it should be. It was release early. But i'm still enjoying myself.

Dude... you don't even seems to understand me.I like the game. I played and still play. I have a lvl 24, armorsmith 15 and 50+ diplomacy on Varking. BUT, i can see that there is bugs in the game and that it is not polished as it should be. It was release early. But i'm still enjoying myself.
