Guildwars uninspiring hack and slash!

Sorry to say first of all i smell rat here it dont belong on mmorpg.com second its fun for 30 min then is BORING,lvl design no atmosphere.

Rpg element very simple its RIPOFF from phantasy star online and dungeon siege only those 2 games are far superior.

Now i no why no monthly fee i would never pay for it its fun for 30 min when by real mmorpg server go down or want some guild fighting for 20min.

It lack depth so now i understand why they say you dont have to play it for 100 hours a week but only 5 hours you can also be good.

It lack substance for deep gameplay its simple hack and slash nothing more.

Now a lot will flame me for saying this well thats when you hype game as mmorpg while ITS NOT.

Its more like Diablo3 only rpg is far less,and boring gameplay.

This game will go in to hystory as boring mmohasf (masive multi online hack and slash fake)

Why fake becouse the gameplay is small fellows go in lvl kill boss or do some guild wars or pvp with few peeps you never see masive peeps while playing you only meet them in lobby well they make lobby look same as ingame world and then say its mmorpg hahahahaha!!!!! what a joke:P

He, nice discussion. Im also dutch and i totally NOT agree with forestdutch

so maybe were all not that dumb

. I think it's a great game, and i can't wait till it's coming out. The only thing (what I understand) is that the lvl is keeped at 15, that doesn't mather but your lovely skills aren't getting better. Cause in guild wars you can always use skills but the healing skill at the beginning also heals your enemy, en when you are at a higher level it doesn't. That's my only thing to say... For the rest i think it's a great game and i have been having so much fun, for example with killing the sumnit stone master and forgotten things and the griffons!!

dude the griffons LAYED WAST TO MY PARTY AND IT WAS LIKE WOOSH WE ARE DEAD pretty insain all these lvl 20 griffons coming at you god the stone beasts were even worse had to use a bow and suck the life from him i was a woirror/necro necro are very good reason being? BECUASE YOU CAN SUCK THE VERY LIFE FROM THEM XD from doing that

Yea pls refrain from putting the rest of us in the same category as that guy, he obviously has issues with GW, which have been disucussed to great length already. I think there is a 40+ thread in this very section.

PS. Griffons were easy if you had the right people with you, experience is the key. If you want to know what's tough... The archers at the end of Mission 5. Oh and the lvl "freeze" at 15 was just for E3, it didn't matter much because we coudl still earn skill points, I collected 15 additional skill points so it was still fun.

I think many here dont see the major difference between this and diablo . In diabloe theres totally nth persistence in the game but enough is touched on this and i dont wanna start a war .

I really dont see how its same as Dungeon siege here. Dungeon siege is all about hacking and slashing totally not needing any brians lol. try doing tat in guildwar and u will find urself cornered and raped.

Theres ppl playing the pvp for several hours. 30 min part unless ur soloing since each coop mission takes at least 30-40 min i dont see how u can spend only 30 min unless ur boring urself at solo ( i agree tats boring too )

Go play as a mesmer and figure out how deep is this game.

Again go play mesmer and u will understand why no planning will cause u to die simply too fast. Also try doing 2 man mission 2. You need far more coordination then you think.

Its a CORPG which is a subset of mmorpg.You can read it up in other treads.

This is only alpha . Also in most mmorpg, you actually rare want like 100+ guys on one screen cause it will just lag you so much you will curse and swear. Wats more arenaNet may even plan 32 or more player matches. Seriously, as far as mmorpg goes, which of them gives you a party of more then 20? The fact is when most people play mmorpg they look like zombies killing the same mob or camping the same area looks scary to me. And small fellows killing boss? Which game boss is smaller then the players lol. I know knights online has one such boss which everyone can solo. You must understand the difference between lobby and GW towns. GW towns are persistence and they dont dissappear. Lobbies are made like instance rooms and are mostly non persistence. Lobby you cant trade nor can you buy stuff i dont even know why people compares lobby with GW towns.

I do agree GW looks like a diablo look alike. But unlike diablo which is fast paced rpg, GW is slow and unlike in diablo where you face 50 or even 100 mobs , in GW you only face like 4 or 5 per time. In diablo its god character but GW you are just as powerful as any NPC just tat you have skills and some brain to think .

There seems to be concept you failed to grasp, WE JUST PLAYED AN ALPHA! Of course there is a lack of content, what do you expect, Alpha tests gameplay, not how many things are in the server. The whole idea was this was a DEMO, not a full version. Have some sense before you post.

forestdutch, interesting opinion. too bad your one of the very few that think that. i know your not planning to but please dont buy the game. you sound like the type most people wouldnt want to group with anyways and would bring the fun level of the game down as well. go back to pokemon.

Everyone here has played mmorpg one way or another else they wont be here.

If ur a hardcore mmorpg player, then there must be smth wrong to just test a game out for like 30 min and say it sucks. Every other mmorpg game out there is hack and slash only how they do it is different. Probably u never tested out using skills like how to choose the best 8 of them and do a nice string of combo tat our opponent will never recover.

Not insulting here, but i believe u seen to little to give a true comment of this game. If u said at the start u played like a few hrs and find it sucks then it will be a whole different matter. Just saying a game is hack and slash thus is suck is not an appropriate way of justifying it.

If we justify it your way probably all the games out there suck cause which mmorpg there doesnt hack and slash? Almost all rpg games r ripoff of one another so i dont see how its valid. I bet most mmorpg game out there just need to click on the mob and let it do the attack for you. If u do tat in GW i bet you wont survive it.

If u can show me a mmorpg tat u can win in the end without hacking slashing at all then kudos to you.

Well first off you play an alpha E3 event "preview". This game is more polished than most games that have been out for years. Secondly they arent going to lay everything out on the table on a preview for you to enjoy.

Bottom line. If you dont like this game, then I guess you have issues. You will never be happy with an mmorpg. Cuz guess what? they are ALL hack and slash.

Linchpin is right, there does tend to be a lot of the action of the hack and slash persuasion going on in all MMORPGs.

As for your so-called 'point', I've already ripped that to shreds in another thread. The words 'Massively' and 'Multiplayer' are hyphenated in the definition, therefor it should be Massively-Multiplayer, implying lots of people playing in one space and while you can hang out in the town and setup areas, you're not technically 'playing' with these people.
