Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. After playing for about 15 minutes I start to feel sea-sick, am perfectly ok with games like WoW and Vanguard. I did hear someone else also mention they had this problem with Lord of the Rings. Seems a pity for a game to become unplayable for such a simple reason. I've tried all camera settings and nothing works am I missing something?
Is there a doctor in the house, I would love to find a cure!

Seriously, this is a known issue and the Dev team discussed it at some length ( in the Closed BETA Forums ) with a particular tester that was experiencing these symptoms.
The Devs were looking into it, but I don't know that they were able to come up with a workable solution.
Some community members suggested pulling back the camera view might help, or holding down the left mouse pad while also using the W/A/S/D keys.
The tester I'm speaking of, indicated that they did not use the mouse when moving, only the W/A/S/D keys.
So, yes others have experienced it, but the symptoms were extremely rare. Only one BETA tester ever complained of this.

Thanks for your reply Keogh Good to know that it has been discussed but I guess if it is rare it won't be a priority issue. Would be interesting to know why it happens in one game and not another though, especially when they both appear to run pretty much the same.
There is a setting in the options for the camera to follow "head bobs"--if that's selected, the camera will move up and down as your character traverses the terrain. Personally, that makes me sick and is annoying so I always make sure that's unselected. You might want to double-check yours.
Chances are, it is not an issue that's on their end. It could be that a particular use of color along with the motion is what's causing the problem for you. You might also try setting the graphics a little lower. Generally, motion sickness is caused when the brain is telling the body that it's moving faster or slower than the body senses--it's a visual-perception problem. If the graphics look too real, then your brain might be telling your body that you're moving while you're body knows perfectly well that it's not.
Another option is to try sitting back from the monitor so that you can see more of the room you're in, and to take more frequent breaks visually. That is, try to look at something across the room every couple of minutes or even more frequently--just a quick glance should be enough--at, say, a TV.
Good luck!

These are all good recommendations, and as I recall, some of the very same suggestions made in the BETA Forum thread that covered this topic.

My Dad cant play first person shooters because of the movement he actually gets ill and vomits.

Yeah, I can't play first person shooters without getting motion sickness, so if your playing in first person view maybe switch to third. If your already in third, as somebody suggested earlier, maybe pull back the view some.
Happens to me all the time in FPS games - especially on Xbox360. LOTRO doesn't bother me, though, so it may be that I move much slower, have graphics on low/med settings [older computer], and as mentioned above ALWAYS turn off "head bob". It's a great game, I hope you can find a way to get the settings to work for you.
I can only play any of these types of games in 3rd person view, I need to see my character as I move through the world. Like many of the posts here, I cannot play in first person view for the same reasons.
I have played Anarchy Online, WoW, Ryzom, SWG and now am trying Vanguard and Lord of the Rings Online. I have no problems with Vanguard but I can only play Lord of the Rings Online for a a very short period of time. I believe the reason for this is that in 3rd person view the camera is set to chase camera mode. This means that when I turn my character my brain sees my character turn but the camera is not as instant so there is a time differential between the two events. This causes the motion sickness which I experience and prevents me from enjoying what might be a good game.
I cannot see any setting which allows me to set the camera mode so that it is simultaneous with the character movement. Does anyone know of a way this might be fixed?
dont use keyboard to turn, use mouse macro so u can do run lock with extra mouse button and use right mouse to move left and right. Atm the movement UI is very poor and alot of macro option not available at all.

In the same options, you don't have to have the camera set to "chase." You can just choose to have it locked so that it doesn't swing the same way. I just set it to autorun and then use the left-mouse button to turn.
FPS games bother me, too. Once in a while, if the action's not too fast-paced (such as in an RPG-FPS), I can take it for a while. Obviously, even if my eyes weren't so crappy, I'd have never made it as a pilot or astronaut.
