There was a post below that was very helpfully on the pros/cons of the different classes so that's one of my questions out of the way.
My second question would be with the races. It looks like a few of them have a significant amount of benifits vs. negatives than other races. Do those negatives add up to be a big difference in the end, or does it just effect the lower levels and eventually get lost as you level up?
Lastly, I've read on the website the solo players can get by, but fellowships of course make it easier. Is it true that you can solo if necessary? Is faster or slower to 'grind' in a group? I've played WoW with my wife and I've noticed that by doing the exact same set of quests, I would be further solo than in a group because while solo you kill roughly the same number of mobs, but get more exp for it. This brings up the final question: Are their a lot of quests, or is the primary means of leveling just finding a grinding spot?
Okay, maybe not the final question, I just thought of some more. Crafting in games has always held a special place in my heart. I love it. What are the restrictions for crafting? Can you do them all like say FFXI or are you limited to only a couple like WoW? How about markets to sell items, are they player shops so cities are loaded with hundreds of AFK people selling junk and you have to spend hours shopping around or is their an AH/Store that lists everything for sale? And for my last question (I mean it this time ): Are crafted goods any good? From WoW I found that a whole lot of the crafted goods were not that great compared to quest rewards. Some were awsome, but the majority were just "meh".
Thank you ahead of time for answering my questions! As the person in the post below about class pros/cons said, Please keep this informative and don't start flaming comments of others. Thanks again!

You can solo a great deal until you reach mid 30's - 40, then it becomes more difficult because of the numbers and lethality of the mobs you must travel through or fight. At level 50, you can not travel into the end-game zones alone and survive very long.
The race traits are more important in the early game, but if you work on improving your race traits and skills, and combine that with the benefits of buffing weapons/amour/jewelry it equals out at level 50.
You do NOT (repeat NOT ) grind mobs for experience in LOTRO. You receive very little XP for mobs, even the elite or signature mobs give no more XP than the normal monsters and that is very little indeed. You gain XP by completing QUESTS (lots and lots of quests).
So if you grind anything, its quests.
As for crafted goods. An Artisan Crafter (with a rare one time use recipe and signature mob trophy) can make a weapon or piece of armor or jewelry far superior to any drop of quest reward. Generally speaking, crafted goods are as good and often better than quest rewards and are always better tan drops of the same level.

Well i must say, I like what I'm hearing so far. Thanks for both your replies, that really helps.
I think the quests to level instead of grinding is a huge plus, I find it more fun then just simply killing the same monsters over and over.
Having the ability to solo is also nice. I like to group, but I also hate waiting for groups. It's nice to know you can still play even if you can't find a group. Speaking of which, is their any tools to make finding groups easier? I hate shouting in chat to find people, I liked how FFXI had a tool that you could search the whole server for people looking for a group in your level range.
Crafting is usefull, excellent!
Now the final question I guess is still what kind of market their is for selling Player collected/crafted goods. Player shops, AH/Store, or a combination?
I'd also like to hear more about the racial traits. Just reading them makes some races look really gimped except for a specific role, whoel others look like they have a nice array of bonuses that make them almost ideal for any class except for maybe one.
I would say their is now an 80% chance of me pre-ordering this game

Something worth mention is that grouping is very friendly. Unlike other games I never had a problem in beta finding a group to do a quest or two with. Since there is really only benefit to grouping as far as XP goes everyone is OK with quick hit groups for the current quest (s) you are after.
In crafting, I was thrilled to find I was making better stuff then I was finding which was great. One thing that was tough is on of my characters had to go all the way from Bree to the dwarf halls to move up in a part of his vocation. It was a quest so it was actually fun to do. The Auction house was always full of useful bits that I needed because of that oddball vocation metioned before. I would find myself buying partially completed goods to make better stuff as well as harvesting.
The traits system is nice. There are racial traits as well as traits gained from completed deeds (and you gain cool titles). Even your class skills have traits that enhance them for repeated use of it.
For intance, if you complete Breeland quests you gain a trait (don't remember which) that you can slot in your character. If you find certain locations you gain a different trait. It gives you incentive to complete things and explore the nooks and crannys of the game. Even though the game is not mob oriented there are benefits for becoming a slayer of this or that too.
This is where you get some unique features to your character.
Lastly, the quests themsleves are really enjoyable. There are some kill that and slay so many of this quests but many go deep into a story line and some story instances (Which you will experience as a new character right away).
I also love the fact you can really solo a lot of the game becuase even though grouping is friendly I don't always want to group to complete something I am wanting to complete.
Solo alot ?
Hmm, i dont know.I havent played it, someone i know is (was as cb ended), and they said the game was not very solo friendly.
That it was almost solo friendly in the beginning, but as you level it goes the other way fast.In addition he siad even at the lower levels there are quests that you NEED a group to complete, and that these are story line quests that you really have to do.
