True Fantasy Live Online

Is anyone looking forward towards this mmorpg for the Xbox? I think it's going to be the first mmorpg to use the voice communicator instead of the key board. Also depending what race you are the voice communicator will change your voice so say your an orc or lizard your voice will sound orcish or like a lizard man.

P.S. there should be a True fantasy online forum on here too ;)

Sounds alright,  but I would want text too... it's nice to pull up a log of what people are saying...  with voice you're going to get 500+ people all talking at the same time.

You're also going to get people who do nothing but talk trash...  and you can't do anything about it.  It's a neat idea,  but I don't care for it.

you can't hear people unless their right next to you so that kills the chance of you hearing 500 + people. there is also a ignore capability so you can block people which are annoying but this is a definate looker ;)

this is from XBN shorten by a fellow gamer at another board

Well, I read it. The director of this game said that his main focus is for this game to be fun and easy to play for the casual gamer. Here are some key points from the preview.

    1) Battles employ the menu-based auto-attack system common to the genre. But there are new twists: Fantasy has abolished the concept of "leveling up" entirely, replacing it with a system of skill proficiencies. Combat and noncombat skills are upgraded by repeated use, and new skills are acquired through combinations of learned ones.

    2) Hino hopes that this skill-based system lets players of different intensities group together effectively so casual and hardcore gamers won't be stratified into different cliques. In fact, the game is designed so that casual gamers can enjoy it fully, but those who play more frequently can earn exclusive rewards.

    3) Don't like combat?? Don't worry, there's room in Fantasy's world for pacifists, too. Hino believes it’s possible to play and enjoy a noncombat character without fighting for the entirety of a lifeline in Fantasy.

    4) Players can reside in their own online studio apartments, complete with the option to decorate and invite friends to show off your crib.

    5) This game will have full voice chat where a voice-filtering system, similar to what already exists on Xbox Live. The only difference here is that, judging from a recent playtest, these filters are actually very cool. Grown adults are audibly transformed into fairy sprites and hulking ogres, all in an attempt to maintain immersion.

    6) The world features a host of environments to explore, such as towns, shrines, caves, ruins, islands, mountains, and forests.

    7) Some towns have casinos where users can gamble and make money, or a coliseum where users can fight monsters and place bets on the outcome of fights. "I hope to implement things that users would expect to see within a city or town as engaging activities in their own right" Hino said.

    8) Players can ally themselves with one of several countries, such as the Kingdom of Cleria or the Magic City. It’s likely that conflict between these countries will play a central role in the narrative of the game. "We plan to implement a system that changes the world of Fantasy as time passes, Hino says. It’s possible that large narrative shifts will accompany gameplay tweaks and additional content

    9) No fee has been determined

    10) Fantasy has more emphasis on non combat skills than on combat skills

    11) They said the world is ABSOLUTELY gigantic.

That’s it in a nutshell. Sounds fantastic. happy.gif

Do you think alot of mmorpgers would want to use there voice for there character? I mean it totally takes out the feeling of being in the world. You log on and probably would start hearing people speaking profanity.

Well what they are doing with the voices changing them so it sounds like that species/race,adds more immersion depending on the maturity of the people your with your experience could be great. I mean you can't really judge it on a few personal bad experiences just like i can't judge text messages just because guys talk like " r0x0z c6u be3<4use I'm l33t"

I'm very much looking forward to this game but I must say that voice in a fantasy RPG is silly. I won't use it. Ever.

Instead of r0><0r5. They'll just talk like, hey *bleep* *bleep* *bleep*. *bleep* *bleep* *bleep*. And say things like, man, that monster got pwoned! Actually it'll be worse, because at least when they're typing, it takes a while.

Well everyone has a different opinion but i'll throughoutly enjoy this game when it does come out just for the experience. It is possible to ignore people so you don't have to hear say *beep* *beep* *Beep* but it seems i'm repeating on what i've said on all my replies, when i do play it i'll tell you people how it is and if the experience is good. image

I've been looking forward to this game for about a year now. I hope there won't be a monthly fee on top of the X-Box Live subscription - Like Phantasy Star Online.

This game is going to rely on the MS XBox Live V3.. It has features that cant be implemented on a pc.
Also because everyone has the same system and broadband there wont be low bandwidth people bogging down the game. the game is cell shaded witch looks good, but it also allows 10 people to party together.
We are really exited about TFLO, and started a clan for it called The Clerian Counsel:

We have great website with a ton of features..
    Come check us out.

As I have stated in the previous thread about TFLO WHY would you make a clan to a non-existent game?? that maes no sense and honestly makes you look like a fool

  • ClerianClerian Member Posts: 8

LOL, so dont join.. First of all this is not a "non Existant game". Why should we wait until the game launches? These days people DO start clans prior to launch. If you saw our website you would see why.. planning, organisation, game info, getting to know the people who will play. If thats being foolish , then I suppose I'm a fool. In this game I suppose everyone will eventually join a clan. It's just the smart thing to do. By getting a jump on things now, our members will have an advantage over those that give it no thought until they are in the game.

OK, we only need one 10 month old topic about this game. Stop dragging up every thread in history about this game, please.

    Somebody ban this guy...
