I play computer games about 30 hours a week. I hate mindless grinding. PVP is cool but as long as its skill based (not gear based) so i win 99% of the time. Ive been out of the MMO world for about 5 months. Ive been honing my skill headshotting nubs in CSS. For some odd reason i had never even heard of Lineage 2. I played EQ, DAOC, FFXI, WOW, VG, DDO and probably others. Most to max level and end game content. I think FFXI was the most fun but i couldnt bear the 8 hour LFG times and disgustingly hard quests every 5 levels at 45. WOW is now unplayable to me because ive grinded about 8 characters to 60 and its become unbearable. Is L2 anything special? Im sort of a pessimist so i hang on things like 8 hour lfg times, and 100 hours of grinding per 1 hour of fun.
Never take life too seriously youre never gonna make it out alive.

LA2 is a massive grind, pvp sounds to be good but the grind is unbearable, there are some free shards out there with more xp/adena(money)/drop rates but if u want a good pvp game then u should try shadowbane www.shadowbane.com check out the chronicel of strife, imo the best pvp game out, atleast until Warhammer: online comes out, i hope, Shadowbane is a old p2p mmo with city building, politics, and above all els pvp, there are some bugs in the game and the gfx is crap but if u try it and manage to get past it u will have something to spend allot of time in, its free to play now, imo its atleast worth a try, since it got free to play they raised the xp so u can level a char to max in a day with PL which aint hard to find if u find a good nation, if u do try it start on mourning/wrath, thay got most ppl, Brialla is overflowing with asians

Based on your intro, no mate.
The game is 3 years old, the advice I have for all new players is; find a sponsor !
This means do your research on which server best suits your playstyle and then do it all over again and find a clan. Go into the clan forums and ask some more questions about the classes. When you get sufficient info make your selection and only then log into the game.
Doing anything else and hoping for success in pickup groups will set you up for failure in L2.
Clan hopping is frowned upon, loyalty and dependability are valued highly. The game revolves in cycles of XP, gather/trade for mats, craft equipment or SS and then back to XP. It will depend on which class you chose as to how often the cycle will turn for you. Trying to solo/multibox will only get you on some clan's KOS list. Its a matter of time before you will have a conflict over an XP spot, as there is no such thing as camping in L2. (unless ofcourse you have a clan tag to back you up).

This is one of the best things ever posted about this game.
Too many people approach L2 like other games: Join a clan, chat a bit and then leave and do something else. A clan in L2 is not a glorified chat room. It actually means something. You might find yourself playing with the same people for years. You come to rely on them, depend on them. They are the game.
