Picked up the new Epic Collection for $10 and GameStop that includes 45 days of play. I gotta say, they made the newbie experience SO MUCH BETTER. I never got very far because it was originally so very difficult to level. Now, in only an hour, I hit 5 and am half way to 6. That took me roughly...what, 2 or 3 hours originally? The healing is much faster, they give you soul shots for the newbie quests, and actually FINDING quests is now a breeze. Not sure how the rest of the game is, but I'm impressed with what they've fixed so far.

Level 10 now in about as many hours of play the last two days. I forgot to mention the wonderful mini-buffs that drop from mobs now. Love how everything has been streamlined and grinding doesn't feel as grindy since theirs not as much down time now.

Definitely Kane, the game has gotten a lot better. If you ever do feel the grind, the best thing to do is get into a group. That is my favorite and I don't even feel a grind while grouping, plus the grouping bonuses given are helpful as well

Got into a 2 person group last night and WOW. The experience rate was just NUTS. She had a bit higher gear than your average starting character, but not by much. We were blowing through orange cons in seconds.

That is great ! It gets a lot of fun when your in a group. Soloing can be done but I always try to find groups.

wb... The game has definitely become easier to level... which for the most part is a good thing.  The one issue I have with it is, the starter towns "appear" to be empty... which is now simply because you lvl faster.  But as a new player, it may appear that no new people are starting L2.    Anyway, the game is better than ever, but just not as "hardcore" as it used to be.

Anyone, remember day #1 when retail server went live??  Oh.. the days of the newby towns.

Not many new people are playing lineage2. The problem with the game still exists where you have a grind later on, you have trouble finding groups at lower levels and you're only as good as your equipment, which apparently everyone has the best of thanks to ebay. It's pretty hard to play this game legitly for honest fun.

That being said, it's still a game I keep coming back to every once in a while since open beta.
