I can see all the carebears running in a field of flowers holding hands near the Shire singing "We are safe, nah nah..nah nah..nah" "Don't you diss me, we can take this to monster PVP and I can have my pre-made level 50 monster fight your level 50 monster...so pew pew on you!"

yeah, that was a weak attempt at bashing the game.
I give it a 2 out 10. Two points because you used pew pew in a Fantasy RPG.

You know this new term carebears really does not make sense to me, just because you want want superb pvp does not mean you have to judge people who like pve more thats just dumb, maybe some of us more mature folks just dont see the point in pvp and espically to make ourselves feel better?
Let me list things that makes us carebears feel good, going outside, hanging out with friends gf or wife, our children, the actual gameplay and lore of a video game. There are many more important things in life then competition, when your yonger you usually dont recongnize this. But just wait for warhammer and let us enjoy our game,we do not go around judging people who like there pvp games atleast mature ones usually edont. Personally I lke pvp time to time because the challenge can be better then pve but I dont turn it into my lifestyle.
One last thing some of those carebears are healers healiing you in those pvp battles you know.
Basically what he was saying is "Since I can not be level 50 and gank you at 15, this is not pvp." "Pvp must require ganking". "Even the monster is controlled by another PLAYER and I am a PLAYER and we VS each other, this game is not for people who would enjoy PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER"
You have it exactly right. If it was really about wanting "challenge" and "competition", lol, then what would be better than meeting roughly equal powered opponents where it would be your 1337 skillzors that would make the difference? But its not about that and I laugh when they say it is.
Everyone, just get over it! This is NOT a PvP game.
Its a PvE game with a PvP mini-game thrown in to appease a segment of the population ( like a 4 star restaurant having a $20.00 hamburger on the menu for the kids ).
PvP'er: Stay away, this ain't the game for you.
Those of you that keep trying to convince PvP'ers to play LOTRO because of the PvMP, STOP IT! They will be disappointed.
LOTRO is story driven quest based PvE game.
While you are mostly right allow me to direct you to the recent eurogamer interview with the producer for lotro: www.eurogamer.net/article.php
In particular on page 2:
Eurogamer: Given that PvP is being made into quite a separate system from the rest of the game, does that mean there's only going to be one type of server, or is there some kind of PvP / PvE divide still in place?
Jeff Steefel: Currently, that's the plan. Again, we reserve the right to decide that having a completely PvP server is a possibility - so we might do that, but the question then is, do we just open up PvP to everywhere in the world? Technically, we can do that. The game is built to handle that, so there's nothing technically we have to do - it's just a question of, what does it do to the overall feel and quality and balance of the game?
Now, we may find that there's a group of people in our audience who don't care. They feel like, "we love being in this world, and we love beating the crap out of each other - that's all we need, just give us a server to do it on." In which case, that's certainly something we would entertain - but right now, that's not part of the plan.

Viral Marketing at it's best? (worst?)
LotRO is not a PvP game. It gives the option to do both even simultaneously.
PvMP is PvP.
