When you die ....

in Voyage Century Online
Appologies if this has already been covered, but what happens when you die/sink ?  Is there any penalty, do you risk being robbed/looted ?

    You respawn in the closest town you have found.  You loose reputation based on what level you are.  like 50 or 100 reputation.  Also you will loose some cannons to sometimes.  THis is all i have experienced.

    Well, actually it is the last town you visited, even if there is a closer one that you have already been to before. Also, if you die in land battle, there is a chance of dropping some of the coins and items your toon is carrying. The chance is higher if you are "pink-named", which happens when you gain notoriety for aggressing innocents.

    Really? iv died several times as a newb and i never lost anyhting...on land atleast...i lost cannons becuase they shot a canonball on it so...

    I think you only drop items/coin if you die in PvP not in PvE. And even in PvP if you are not pink-named (havent aggressed) yuor chances of dropping are low.

    I've now lsot items in PvE - in the crete batllegrounds I lost 6 cannns and my armour when I ws sunk, and in open sees a smuggling ship I was taking down somew how managed to take out my level 2 armour.

    Mmmmmm so With that does it depend what do you lose or not items/cannons?

    I got the impression it was random.  Possibly if there is a critical hit on you there might be  a chance of losing an item.  It might also be the case that if you have armour, that goes first.

    Cannon and armor take damage in battle, so yes, you could lose them in PvE. I was talking about dropping things like silver and goods or items that you/your ship are carrying...things that normally wouldnt take damage in battle. Those things can be dropped when you die in PvP but afaik, not in PvE.

    I may add that when your crew is down to 0 and your ship sinks you spawn back in your hometown.

    lol when i die (land) i always relog on the game and i spawn on same spot where i was... is it correct? or there is a button to revive to the nearest city? if yes im really stupid

    If you're spawning back in the same spot in the suburbs, you may not be actually dying, but just getting disconnected.  When you die in the suburbs, you should respawn in the port area (on land).  When you die at sea, you should respawn in the offshore area of the last town you visited.



    The "Back to City" button appears in the same spot as the 'back to high seas' button would.
