This may sound crazy (and I am lol), But I think Bungie or Microsoft should make a Halo MMORPG. It would be kind of like Planetside except that it would be Human vs. Covenant. I think it would work well and it would be able to hold its own against any FPS MMORPG. Please post your thoughts os this.

Halo 2 has the best demo trailer ever made. Lol, Halo 1 got a bit repetetive for me but I am giving Halo 2 a chance.
I think they will eventually, maybe around Halo 4 or 5; that or after it has had a few movies made after it.

Unreal Tournament would make a much better MMORPG. Mainly because....
1) It's a way better game.
2) You don't really have to worry about people reading a bad story, cus there hardly is one.
3) It's got better vehicles and such
4) It's got funner multi
5) It's got better weapons than Halo (cept maybe for the plasma grenade, those are kinda fun)
Regaurdless, FPS games don't really seem like good games to turn into MMORPGs. You see, they're based on action, and not RP type battle engines. The twitch combat is everything. If they would be better or even halfway good as a MMORPG, I'm sure someone would make it. As far as I'm concerned, though, FPS games would just be made completely lame if turned into any kind of RPG.

There is a MMOFPS, its called Planetside and although its not a perfect game it does have some good aspects that just need some tweaking and a little better management. And it is far from boring (although poor design and diversity as well as weapon choice made it repetive).
Halo would be a great MMOFPS. It has 2 sides for widescale PVP. The possibilty to has multiple hotspots as well as the chance for pure flight combat in space and space battles.
It IMO has a great physics engine and will have the BEST physics engine in regards to Halo 2 (jumping cars, droooool).
Great chance for weapon variety, pretty good storyline, and the chance to add in some NPC fight content. The Flood anyone?

I never want to see an FPS game turned into an MMORPG, the point of an FPS is to see who has more skill, turn it to an MMORPG and it's the person with no life winning now.

It's TACTICS dammit, not 'skill' you are probably one of those ten year olds questioning everyones sexuality when you die. halo has the potential to be a mmog but it wun turn out gd as counter-strike
halo is mainly attractive in a sense to me in its hp recovery system, storyline, weapons, vehicles and the enemies's AI...by makin it into a mmog it will be no different frm counter-strike in which its kinda boring to me now.
1)halo does not haf wide variety of items as counter-strike
2)by turnin it into mmog= destroyin the whole storyline of halo thus wastin the efforts of bungie n gearbox. they jolly well create a mindless sci-fic mmog instead of halo

How would it waste the efforts of the game? Basically Halo2 is the turn of the war as the humans finally win something aka earth...
Having a Halo MMO would just make plain sense and it seems like thats what they are doing. As for weapon variety thats not to hard to handle. And they already have flight in the game.
But going to MMOs its a dev's wet dream. Having 300k subscribers, paying 13 a month for 12 times a year. And knowing that most games are utter failures making a solid MMOG is very nice for programmers as it gives them a solid income.
