The Enigma Directive/Decree Recruiting

It was like a waking dream... a shadow stretched across the land, screams rose up from villages that dotted the hillside, and fires raged everywhere. An eagle streaked across the sky and dove into a stand of trees that had thus far survived the inferno. There many of all races had gathered around a large stone, weathered and ancient. The eagle carved a circular set of mysterious runes into the stone with its beak and talons, then flew off again high above the billows of smoke. It grew dark in the stand of trees, yet all remained still even with the fires creeping closer. A ray of light suddenly shone through the tree tops and illuminated the stone, casting a voice into the minds that surrounded it. The fires were extinguished and we were awoken, destined to form an order together to help rid Middle-earth of this impending darkness.
The Enigma Directive is a roleplaying guild that has been together for more than two years, although not with this game. We appreciate deep stories and lots of subplot, and are very much looking forward to LOTRO. We've all seen the movies, of course, and some of us have read the books (ok, having read the trilogy and The Hobbit, I've also been through the first book of Lost Tales and just finished The Silmarillion), but we're not going to hammer on fellow players that don't recall specific details of Middle-earth. If you think about it, even those that lived in Middle-earth didn't always know specific histories and names of locations, so for a player to not know it all is perfectly fine and realistic. We'll explore this world together.
A few specifics:
Age: We're generally 18+
Nation: Mostly U.S.-based players but we range from the UK to Australia
Character Race: Any. The dream sequence signifies different peoples coming together for a common purpose.
Character Class: Any. We're looking to put together a well-rounded kinship.
Server: Voting currently underway on our forums.

At the moment we're undergoing a slight name change for this game. While we will remain The Enigma Directive in other games we play, we will be changing to The Enigma Decree for Lord of the Rings Online. We think it's more fitting for this game than "Directive."
