Pick your poison and post your reason, me im Horde all the way, i just notice on my server that there are 3 and a half times more Alliance guilds than Horde Guilds and we still manage to wipe the floor with them, Pwnage thy name is Horde.

"The POWER of the Horde"
and only....
"The Might of the Alliance"
Alliance: 50% kids, 20% students and young adults, 30% mature players
Horde: 20% kids, 60% students and young adults, 20% mature players
So alliance has a more higher proportion of kids, but curiously, it feels like alliance also has more mature adults.
The large number of kids means alliance have problems in battlegrounds at some levels, particularly 20-29 and 30-39. It's partly time based though. If you play alliance you can just forget about winning any games on a saturday morning, whilst late at night, or during school hours, alliance can field some pretty good teams. In my server group alliance wins much more than it loses at level 70 battlegrounds.

Horde. More mature player base, better racials. Tends to be a bit too hardcore sometimes. My recommendation is clearly Horde.

Alliance:
Pros: A lot more players so grouping can be easier. Slightly easier PvE progression due to more PvE focused racials, more paladins (for now) and fear ward for certain encounters. More aesthetically pleasing races and areas (a matter of opinion) World PvP tends to be dominated by Alliance on most servers due to much larger population.
Cons: A lot more people means a lot more @ssholes. A large portion of undesirables flock to the "prettier" races so you have more immaturity, noobish behavior, leet speak and cybering. Winning battlegrounds tends to be harder on Alliance side as well due to the more PvE centric racials and community of players. More lag in populated cities (though this was more a problem before TBC)
Horde:
Pros: A lot less players than Alliance side can form a more tight knit community. Less people mean players need to be more self sufficient and that can make them better players down the road. Overall it seems more mature players roll Horde. Battleground PvP tends to be more successful on Horde side due to offensive based racials and a more mature player base.
Cons: A relatively small population means groups can be harder to find. More PvP focused racials tends to attract more power gamers and elitists. PvE progression can be slower due to lack of fear ward, and (for now) Paladins being in short supply at the higher levels. Uglier races and more drab locations. (again matter of opinion) World PvP can be extremely difficult on most servers due to being outnumbered nearly 2:1 by Alliance.
I always favored Horde, but pick your poison.

ive played both sides and i will say that yes there are alot of noobish players in the alliance. for example i was grouped with a pally that still and rank 1 abilities and didnt know what the hell a class trainer was. ive also run into noobs in dungeons that press need for everything on item rolls untill ofcorse we kick him.
well i have seen some noob things on horde side to but nothing too serious. but really its the server not the faction. but there are consistencies in both. ofcorse games are not perfect.
However the most noobish thing I'd seen was alliance side. I was in a Stockades group with my hunter. A priest, a rogue and myself were outside the instance and waiting for the other two players to be ready for summoning. I proposed that we start clearing some of the weaker convicts near the entrance.
So the three of us entered, I pulled a single isolated prisoner and used my pet to tank it whilst I blasted away with my gun. The rogue next to me pulled his gun and started shooting as well...

So there's at least one more reasons to accuse Horde of being evil than alliance.

I've played both sides and have seen my share of idiots on both sides, I have also seen a great number of mature players on both sides. I've never really sat down to try and determine an exact percentage of which side has better players and I really don't care, if people bug me I simply ignore them, even though that can be difficult at times. So I really think it really dependes on what server your on and what time of day you play as stated in a previous post.
As to what side is good or evil, all races are good with the exception of the undead, who want to exterminate all life, and the trolls are questionable.
