Alright, I've looked around for stuff to convince me that this is going to be fun, and not a waste of time. What i don't want to hear from ANYONE who posts here is "Yes because i love it" or "No it's boring after a week!" All i would like from you guys is if it'll go well with my interests. Please read them all. XD
1) I like grouping with people, so long as the system is well done. I don't like having ANY reason to argue over something with my 'mates.
2) There should be very few people running around bragging about how they got this, they accomplished that, blah blah blah.
3) Respect towards new players, (Namely, no 'hurtful' use of n00b newb noob newbie n00bie nooby noobie... you get the Idea) and a freindly community of somewhat intelligent people.
4) I like to know that if something's seriously wrong that lots of people hate the devs can fix it without F***ing the game up for people who dont really care. The staff should be friendly and responsible.
5) Character customization (That's aready been answered though.... there's definitely enough for me.)
6) Easy controls.
7) Well-done combat system. I should feel as though I'm actually DOING something, and not watching a 3d model throw particles and whatnot.
8) I don't care one bit about beleivability, I like gameplay and friendly people.
9) I shouldn't have to think of what I'll need to do later, I would like to feel that the game is the here and now. I should be able to enjoy the game all the way through, nothing like "I need 'x' amount of 'y' to do 'z', in which case i can start doing 'a' amount of 'b' to get 'c'." I'd rather have "Hey, i feel like doing 'a' right now."
10) $15 a month... That's about 4 movie rentals. I don't rent 4 movies a month, though. Can i get more than 10 hours (about 4 [good] movies worth) of entertainment out of this, consistantly?
Alright, that just about covers it. Oh, and please dont reply with "Yes, this is your game." or "No you'll hate it." Intelligent answers more like "This game is nice for #9, because..." Support your answers here, lol. This may seem like a bit too much of a grill for a Game, i know, but I'd like nothing more than finding a game I can play when I want to, which may or may not be a lot, and still progress in a fun environment. Except maybe millions of dollars. Thanks for your time!

1. It's definitely a grouping game.
2. I haven't noticed any braggards in the game. Usually people that behave like that usually get rares in game and there's not really any rare items here.
3. You may get someone calling you a newb only if you steal his/her kills.
4. Sometimes the map server can go down on you but over all the game doesn't really have any serious bugs or really anything minor that you could complain about. It's well-built software-wise.
5. You already know the answer to this one. It's awesome.
6. Controls are your standard wasd and point and click. Easy to pick up from the get-go and you can customize it later if you don't like the standard, plus be abe to customize macros.
7. You have to press a button for each single attack. There's no click once and the game continues from there until either you or your opponent dies as found in some other games.
8. It's super heros!. Has nothing to do with believability.
9. There's different ways you can play the game. You can do your single missions which you pick up from your list of contacts and when you want to do them. There are some timed ones (you have so many minutes to complete it), but they will tell you if it's one of those before you actually select it. Otherwise, missions can be done at your convenience, but you can only have 3 in stand-by to do. There's also Task-Force missions which are much longer and kind of goes with your point A to point B to point C type of missions. And then there's just go out on the streets and take down bad guys as you see them. The last is the most freedom and a lot of people spend most of their time just doing that.
10. Can't say how I can tell someone else what the value of $15/mo. That would have to be up for you to decide.
So, "Yes, this is your game!"
[Edit] You don't have to be a fan of comic books to play this game, but it sure helps. I'm not sure I would recommend this to people who just wants to try something different than their normal MMORPGs unless they really enjoyed reading comic books or watching Batman or Superman cartoons on Saturday morning.
Heh, thanks a lot. By dont reply with "No you'll hate it" or whatever, I meant don't post JUST that ^^;;
Thanks for actually reading through all that, I appreciate it, I'll probably pick up the game after at least one more person posts.

Well, I don't know you personally, but I can say that I get at least 10 hours a WEEK of entertainment out of this game... and have been for over 6 weeks now.

buddy i would say that most of the things that you are looking for are in the game....
there are quite a few kiddies playing the game tho so there is some of the noob stuff but seeing as there is no pvp (which is why i am not currently playing the game) then there is very little noob calling etc.
Grouping is a important aspect to take on some groups etc for exp so you should enjoy this game its definatly easy to controll although the fighting does get a bit dull and repetitive at times seeing as its a little basic but the effects and powers look kool
This room... This bullet... There's a bullet for everyone... A time, and a place... An end to a cause, an alpha to an omega. So it has come to this, You know too much about me, I can't have that, Not even in my death.

One thing I'd like to add is that the combat system is wonderfully done. It's very similar to Knights of the Old Republic, if you've played that game. You have a lot of different attacks to choose from, and you have to really watch how much each drains you or you'll run out of gas in the middle of a big fight. There's a lot of strategy and management in the way combat works, not to mention a lot of action!
1) I like grouping with people, so long as the system is well done. I don't like having ANY reason to argue over something with my 'mates.
Can't argue about loot...system takes care of it all
2) There should be very few people running around bragging about how they got this, they accomplished that, blah blah blah.
I haven't seen them. And with personalized missions, there is no camping that ONE mob. And thus, no items to brag about.
3) Respect towards new players, (Namely, no 'hurtful' use of n00b newb noob newbie n00bie nooby noobie... you get the Idea) and a freindly community of somewhat intelligent people.
I think all games have good and bad players. I haven't seen any hurtful players so far, but I'm sure, like every game, that they exist.
4) I like to know that if something's seriously wrong that lots of people hate the devs can fix it without F***ing the game up for people who dont really care. The staff should be friendly and responsible.
Good here, this isn't SWG.
5) Character customization (That's aready been answered though.... there's definitely enough for me.)
Yea, 'nuff said.
6) Easy controls.
Absolutely. I'm a WASD gamer myself, which is the default. One annoying thing is that if you setup a key profile for a character, it's not universal to all your characters. Not that bad for me, all I do is invert the mouse and increase the sensitivity. Unless there is an option or something I missed.
7) Well-done combat system. I should feel as though I'm actually DOING something, and not watching a 3d model throw particles and whatnot.
Lots of good animations. I love storms.
8) I don't care one bit about beleivability, I like gameplay and friendly people.
CoH really sticks to the comic idea, which it succeeds at. I've had alot of fun with the game.
None of that going on. You can have 3 missions yourself, or if you're in a group, the group mission can be any of the missions that it's members have. It's really easy to pop in for a few minutes and just play.
10) $15 a month... That's about 4 movie rentals. I don't rent 4 movies a month, though. Can i get more than 10 hours (about 4 [good] movies worth) of entertainment out of this, consistantly?
Definitely. This is a game that is very good for those that don't have alot of time to play. If you're one of those that spends 4+ hours a night gaming, you're likely to get bored after a few weeks. For those that have lives outside of gaming, it's nice to jump in for 20 minutes, an hour, whatever I have. Same reason I like Planetside. And if I feel like having fun with my friends for longer, we can go on a Task Force mission.
7. You have to press a button for each single attack. There's no click once and the game continues from there until either you or your opponent dies as found in some other games.
I think you can shift click or ctrl click or something if you want to repeat one specific attack...
You seem to want most of the things this game has, but there are no houses, items, crafting, PvP, shopkeepers (not many anyway). So this game is not for everyone.
Overall i think it is worth a try, and if you are unsure now then maybe wait for the next free update, or for city of villains. But i would definately give this game a try sooner or later

There are 30 shops that have 3 employees each and I believe 2 trainers in Galaxy and 2 in Atlas. Then not to mention that you can buy enhancements from every contact that you get, just can't sell. So, there are items and there are shopkeepers, plenty of them.
