I'm just curious what everyones favorite mmorpg is. I may be looking for a new one, and wondering what everyone likes, and why. I'm very excited about DnL and it looks amazing, but curious what others like.
DAoC was my favorite. I have yet to find a game that pars up in the game mechanics department(especially the combat system).
Unfortunately Mythic listened way way way to much to the whiners. The ones who complained with no facts behind there arguement just the usual "i want to be able to beat every class in PvP" or "with these skills this class is to powerful" etc.. Turned that game into total trash. It was fun for a little over a year, but after that it just started going down the tubes. I heard ToA totally ruined the game for everyone except the hardcore power gamers.
I loved everquest back in the day, but now its gone down the drain. I only really look forward to WOW, that game looks like it will be incredible. It seems to have everything that I need. I was looking at some E3 games and impressions people had of them and WOW seemed to have amazed everybody.
Anarchy Online could of been all that and a bag of chips, its a shame that it got off to a bad start and we all left for other games. It has alot of promise now and going back to it alone is just not the shame. I have a feeling that if it had been a better launch all of my guild would still be playing.
EQ top of the hill for me.DAoC a close second and probably sitting on second now is CoH.Though i think i been starved of a descent mmorpg so long that CoH looks much better then it is to me hehe.
Since i was never into the games where u have to go out and BUY the game, then pay monthly subscriptions and whatnot, I've been the downloading/paying kinda player. My favorites would have to be
Ragnarok Online - a fun game, big community, try it out (free 15-day trial)
Redmoon online - having problems now, and may not be up...sad really it's my number 1 favorite...or 2.
Shattered Galaxy - Fun mmorpg, and also a real-time strategy. Keeps me entertained greatly!
Any other Nexus games are fun really, so check them out cause they all have trials, and SG you don't even have to pay for, but you do get some cut-backs on a non-paying account, nothing too serious really. (no voting on overlord, only get 75% exp for yourself and units, small stuff like that.)
someday I'll try a game you have to buy first...til then
I personally really enjoyed Anarachy online....the last little bit when they were introducing the expansion they really messed up the game so I quit...but I am missing it:)
YOU CAN FLY.... WHAt MORE DO YOU WANT?!?!... ??Super speed?? it's here... ??Super strength?? it's here... COOL COSTUMES?? it's here.... COOL POWERs??? there here too....

LOL, isn't there several other threads like this one here already. Oh well hope this thread doesn't get locked p.
Since you're asking, DarkSpace. This is just my favorite, and I know its not very popular. I will probably have a new one after some of the newer mmorpgs are released this year and early next year though.

DAoC was fun as hell when i first got it. But then it got too repetitive for me. But then again i never really explored the expansions cause i was told they were only made for high ass lvls.
1st of all hi folks i'm a new member of the community, however which completly free mmorpg(taking lace in a fantasy middle age) would think is the best?
Because i d not want to start a game with a fee until wow comes out.
Favorite of all time, Everquest. The game, the freedom, the friends, and the enemies. It had it all.
Favorite right now, City of Heros. Best character customization ever. Best fun I have ever had in an MMORPG, but I can't see where the long term fun will be.
Favorite releasing soon, Everquest2. I am looking for a more casual game, and EQ2 looks like it could be it.

Disregarding bugs Id say Shadowbane is my favorite MMO.
Only in DAoC can you come close to the amount of teamwork necessary to be successful and have guilds that are extremely close.

Ultima Online under the old noto system rocked.
The fun was there.
All the games coming out are infected with consensual pvp which is retarded.

I personally would still prefer Shattered Galaxy. Been playing this game from beta stages and are still playing now.

That which does not kill you only makes you stronger.

Favorite on the horizon, Vanguard. These guys have the talent, the tools, the backing, and the Vision©
Mine used to be Lineage 2 during the beta sessions. But when they started charging $14.95 a month, I switched.
So now, I stay to stand with PristonTale, I even found a way to delete the lag.
