Mage or Hunter???? PvP and Raid





ALSO:



   If im say..... a gnome or human, and im honered with darnassus, can i still take a nightsaber mount at lvl 40?

    Not sure what it is you are looking for. PvP and Raids are totally different types of play requirments.  You would be wise to 'Spec' fully for one or the other.  Regarding the Class choices you present....Mage or Hunter....hmmm

    GL maybe someone has a better insight for what you are looking for.

    I believe mages are currently in greater demand for raiding. But honestly, the classes are two very different experiences. Have you tried playing either? Try them both to level 20 or so, in order to get a feel for what each one is like.

    In PvP, both are strong offensively, but are weak defensively.  I'd say the hunter is probably stronger 1v1 in world pvp and often gets top kills in a battleground, whilst the mage is better PvPing in an organized group due to the excellent polymorph spell.

    you need exalted with the faction to get there mount

    Yes - although it's perfectly achievable. I have a guildie who, despite being Draenei, managed to get exalted with Darnassus by 38.

    I wouldn't judge the abilities of a class by a single duel between people with possibly unequal gear and abilities (hunters are quite heavily gear dependent, although not quite as much as warriors or rogues).



    In my experience, level 40+ beastmaster hunters beat mages. Easily. The normal mage trick against hunters of casting  frost nova and then moving to the hunter's dead zone doesn't work so well when the hunter has talents such as "Bestial wrath" and "The Beast Within".
