NPC's that talk

XaldorXaldor Member Posts: 236

Have you seen the new trailer on gamespot???

The NPC's talk in the game.  How cool is that.  I can't wait to play it more now....this will truely make this an immersive world that I can get lost in for 2-6 hours a day.  I was wondering if any other new games will have talking NPC's???  Xaldorimage

Ya I just recently seen the npc talk movie but hopefully they make it where you can filter out the NPC talking because after awhile some people will get tired of hearing things talk in game or it's just weird to them.

You have the option of playing with the speech on or off.   Most things in EQ2 allow you to choose.

Initially I had low hopes for EQII, but now It's up there fighting for #1 on my mmorpg wishing list. The more I read about it, the more I like it, and talking NPC:s are a nice addition. The whole atmosphere of EQII seems wonderful.

Wow NPC's that talk! Now that's a first time. I saw the GameSpot trailer, and it looks cool. They don't only talk, but they have good moving gestures too. Great idea, Everquest 2 team!!!!!!!!image

Yeah, that and a token might get you on the subway. Have you actually given someone money?

But one thing in this pic that shows its age is "Babbage's"  Babbage's was bought out last year and named Gamestop. I pre-order EQ2 the first day I heard they where making it. 11-6-2002 image

Yeah, that is a new feature for 3rd gen games that I was actually axcited to see.  I think it will add a bit more immersion to the game.  I thought it was awfully nice to not have to strain my eyes reading all the time as well.  It looks like EQ2 is trying to take some steps in "features" to set themselves apart.

I am with many folks here.  I was a LONG time hard core player and left for due to how mundane the game became and the apparent failure of their economical system.  Looking at the faqs and trailers I am getting a rekindling of interest in the game.

Thats basically what I was going to say. The level of immersion is gonna go up a lot with this new feature. Its going to be really nice to be able to know whats going on w/o constantly reading. It'll add a great sense of realism to the game!

I know this is the first mmo ever to have talking npcs and I think thats awsome. I mean all of the main quests you don't even have to read all of the dieloge. Thats so awsome because the quests with the most amount of dieloge is the main ones. I'll love siting there listining how the rain of destuction happened and how lucelin got destroyed and won't have to sit there for ten times longer then I have to because I'm a slow reader. I can't wait for Everquest 2 to come out so I can see this feature.
