Hows the player population now?

in Dark Age of Camelot

Just wondering how lively the game is this long after it released. I was thinking of giving it a shot now that I have a computer that can run it flawlessly. I just can't justify playing in a ghost town.

Playing - Minecraft, 7 Days To Die, Darkfall:ROA, Path of Exile

    you could look the population at Herald. At peak times Bossiney cluster has 2000+ people on

    With the latest patch the "clusters" are almost like single servers now.  Almost all of the zones are shared so this means it should look less like a ghost town.  That is before say your cluster had 1800 people on, those were spread out over 4-5 servers in 3 realms.  Now, most of the time, that population will all be in the same zones without needed to teleport to the other servers.  So it should look less like a ghost town now.

    Here's a good site to go to if you want to see how the population is.  It lists an annual, monthly, weekly, and daily graph.

    The population over the last year has dropped.  So go get your friends to play and fix it!

    The numbers are pretty weak unless you are on one of the classic servers.

    The classic us-servers are packed at peakhours :)

    It would be interesting  if we could know how many more ppl would play the regular servers if the classic fans presented that as an option as well.   The game is what it is.  YOU Need to decide what is best for you.  I've not played  the role play server - or mordred (all pvp)  but have enjoyed my time on the other choices.  I found classic to be over rated, but thats just MY thoughts.  Mordred seems to be growing lately too. Pick one - if you dont like it move to another.

    I really honestly like ToA, I played on a ToA-sever until 2 months ago when I was forced to leave the EU-servers due to low population.

    ToA-servers today are very diffrent from what they where at release, if I had the time I would have choosen a ToA-server on US to, but I simply don't have the time it takes.

    If it had been possibe I would have transferred my EU-chars to a US-ToA server...but since that wasn't possible I had to restart on classic.

    If you are young and don't have a family to support and take care of, choose ToA-servers, it will keep you occupied for a long time and you will have alot of fun! :)

    I like ToA servers aswell. However IMO it's better that a new player starts in classic server as they will have easier time leveling and maybe getting to know the game better. Once they hit 50 in classic and know more of the game they could try ToA then since they can /level their new char to 20.

    In all honesty, the game needs to have 1 cluster for each ruleset now.  If they did that, then ToA servers would have great populations as well as classic.  I'd love to see the days of old when there were 900+ on at off-peak times (I play off peak normally).  ToA does add a dimension to DAOC that is nice now that it isn't the huge hassle it used to be.  Artifacts are just plain cool.  For someone completely new to the game, it is a tossup.  I returned on my old thid buffbot account, so all I had was a weak level 30? cleric and am having a blast looking forward to levelling up some characters on the new ToA.

    TOA is the whole reason were talking about population.It turned the game into Dark age of Castolot.Classic fights are much better.Ive played 4 years ,left six months,omw back.may the king forsake my disloyaty.I humbly return to my roots,no game running is as good.

    Btw what do i need 1 expansion+12.95 monthly.
