The Login Screen Video. Dear sweet Jesus...

Holy crap, if you have not gotten to see the March newsletter, run, don't walk or skip or crawl to the WAR website, run and watch the Video of the Month. WAR is finally able to implement their lighting. You hear that kids? That means all you complaining that WAR is cartoony and looks like WOW and blah blah blah blah blah, can now officially STFU. WAR just blew WOW and everything else out of the water. I almost shat myself while watching it! I wasn't even remotely interested in playing a Greenskin but after seeing that video I had an orkgasm. Dear god, once you see the video you'll know what I mean. This means 1) that the game is going to kick so much more ass now and 2) Chaos is probably gonna look evil as hell. What I've posted before about not being dark enough and such, wellll, I've seen and now I'm a fanatic. I can't freakin wait to see the other races with the lighting done. Holy freakin crap

    I really hope it will. I hate seeing everyone playing WoW these days which aint even really good as mmorpg. Hope war will make ppl spread from the wow craze.

    This is good. In fact, it's wonderful. While this video doesn't make WAR as realistic as AoC (which is all right in my book), it promises to combine an excellent style with modern technology. Until now, WAR has been a great but scarcely groundbreaking game in terms of graphics to me. Now I really look forward to it. I just don't understand why they announce it so late, having released hundreds of screenshots which according to them don't do justice at all. Well, better late than never, I guess. The only thing that truly matters is what we get at the launch day .

    Why so late, and why release hundreds of screen shots not completed? Hype my son. Everybody's already drooling without the finishing touches

    Well the most recent screenshots of the Warrior-Priests and Magus (including the female character design) have really blown me away. I think the game looks amazing and I really love the style. It looks amazing and with at least 6 months of development time to go the game is only going to look sharper and more refined. Very excited and I have to admit the latest newsletter really did it for me. For The Empire!

    Just imagine what those same screenshots that blew you away, and blew me away as well, are going to look like with the lighting system that's found in this login screen video.

    That is what I'm waiting for.  I've loved the visual style so far, and with those lighting effects the game is going to look insane.  I think people have severely underestimated what Mythic can do. 

    Hopefully after the new lighting system is shown off the screens will be jaw dropping. :)

    So, is that video indicative of what the game will look like or is it just the login screen?

    Ok, I found this on the site:

    "This month, we have a short video to share with you that was created as a placeholder login screen for our pre-beta build. The reason we are so excited about this clip is that it shows, for the first time, what we’ll be able to do in the game with our new lighting tool. All of the great images you have seen of the game to date have been without proper lighting. Now that the tool is done, the art team has started lighting the world and we’ll be rolling out new images as early as next month. Wait until you see what a dramatic difference it makes!" - March 2007 Newsletter

    The upcoming images and videos should truly be interesting.

    I'm not drooling over it i havent even lokked at it much for ! reason. MYTHIC...

     

    They had a great game with the best pvp around in Dark Age of Camelot and in a few years time tweaked/unbalanced/tweaked more unbalanced more added more junk and then more junk and then more junk making item after item barely attainable by the casual gamer and pvp thrown out the window for anyone who couldnt devote 60 hours a week to it..

    Give it a year or 2 and they will screw that up so bad it will be unfixable like DaoC.

     

    BTW the loging screewn on Daoc looks sweet too with the charector there in all cool armor and emoting......

    To bad the rest of the game doesnt look as good and i think warhammer will be the same...

    But i could be wrong i just know i will never support another MYTHIC product after 5 years of Daoc BS..

    That login screen is game gtaphics, do I expect the entire game to look that good? No because they have access to high end macines on max settings to record that. Has Mythic made mistakes before? Yep but at least they admitted to them instead of bsing it all away.



    I really hope war features a night time that is actually dark. Nothing like battling by bonfir and moonlight.

    After what EA did to UO, I still have disdain for them. But from what I've seen from this video and other screenshots, not even my dislike of EA is going to stop me from trying WAR. I'm even getting a new computer when the game comes close to coming out just so I have something up to date. I don't plan on playing any other game for a while after all i've seen from WAR.

    Yeah, unless they're bradtards it's gonna be hard to screw WAR.

    BTW I'm gonna play a Chaos Chosen with some crazy mutations like 3 heads and 7 tentacles then I'll take a pic of it and post it here so everything CAN SEE MY BADASS CHARACTER and bow before me >(

    But seriously, Chaos is gonna be sooo intense!

    Grrrr I was trying to stay very very skeptical about any upcoming mmorpgs but this is too much!

    Looks much nicer with the shaders/lighting.  And yes, Chosen do look bad ass, I just hope there is a pixilated hot ass female chosen for me to play with ... er play ass ... doh.

    I'm hoping for more videos of gameplay when fighting mob and PvP.  Cant really form openion from what I've seen so far.
