Will WAR be a DAoC replacement? Or a "DAoC2"?

Just wondering since both are from Mtyhic, and both contain similar elements, take for example the nordic ("scandinavian") area in both games, or the RvR feature.

I don't want to use the word "killer", but replacement comes to mind in this comparison. DAoC already has a small player base, so one wonders how the support will be once a similar, "modern" game will come out. Not sure if the EQ1/EQ2 comparison is valid/possible here, those are of course also similar games and both exist in parallel.

Mythic and EA came with the idea in a post that I can't find anymore that maybe they'll bring a system where you can pay for both games with 1 unique payment so they don't want DAoC to desappear from want I've learn and understand. Sure thing is that the RvR and all the PvP from DAoC will be in WAR with a lot of changes and new features.

I've been waiting for this game since the first day Mythic leaked the info 4-5 years ago. And i'll be inlist for the beta and the first release day along with my old pals from DAoC.

Mythic didn't have Warhammer Online 4 years ago Climax did. Games Workshop pulled the IP license from Climax in 2004.. Mythic has only had it since May 2005.

DAOC will never die.... but I think after WAR comes out it will see a drastic reduction in player population.  As long as WAR turns out to be good, I'd say DAOC will end up consolidating on to just 3 or 4 servers, (maybe one for each type) and they'll do minor content changes going forward....

Well to call it DAOC anything would be blasphomy , becuase its not. I presonally would love a daoc 2 .

Its more like a WoW puppy, with better ideas more classes, more unquiness and not bout asian level and loot grind. Basiclly they are trying to make a game that is fun to play (what a concept).

I presonallt prefer the eleetist form that DAOC had, but oh well.

It can been seen that the doac will have to cluster the clusters to survive after this is released.

As long as DAoC makes a profit, it'll continue running.  They may have to consolodate some servers, though.  And I do think it'd be a good idea on Mythic's part to offer some sort of subscription package deal for both games, similar to Station Pass.

    Seriously.

DAoC is pretty much the only real RvR game out there... so this is just the next RvR MMO by Mythic(meh EA), DAOC is already suffering, it's been around so damn long what do you expect, most MMOs last 5 years and DAOC is still hangin in there for more than that.  And it sure as hell isn't DAoC II, considering it isn't Camelot lore.

As much as I like Warhammer Online, I sure hope there'll be Dark Age of Camelot II sometime in the future. The game was (and partially is) unique in many ways and though many things like RvR are being implemented to WAR, it's by no means a full replacement, since the game world is totally different.

Since day one, Mark Jacobs has always said there will never be a Dark Age of Camelot II. I think they are still sticking with that idea today. Warhammer looks great, can't wait.

Previously they said there would be no DAoC II, but awhile ago I read that their was a possibility of making it just not at this time.
