Need help on picking an MMORPG..

I need an MMORPG that doesnt have to depend on group fighting to level. I've played DAoC, and ive been checking out Horizons a little bit, but haven't played it. I don't mind group hunting, but I like to solo a lot. As for PvP goes, if it has it cool, if not, i don't care. So PvP really isnt a big factor for me. Graphics aren't that big of a concern for me either. Any help is very much appreciated.

I think City of Heroes would be a good bet. It is a really fun, addicting game, plus it is very easy to solo in the game. The only problem is that it is kind of short on gamplay for a lot of ppl, and the monthly fees are pretty high (15.99 USD i think). I would probably go with CoH because itt is so much different from all the other mmorpgs and so fun.

I'd say World of Warcraft, but I'm a mega Blizzard fan so that's just me. do research, look for trials, or maybe a free one, I'd say Runescape, but that's just because I've played it. Check out the Game List link, it helps a lot.

LMAO!!!! Thats a good one. Good to see a sense of humor on the boards. Don't even bother wasting your time with this piece of dung game. Stick to WoW/CoH/eq2 or anything else but this craptastic game. Lineage 2 is riddled with issues. Most notably botting and dupe exploits. The graphics engine is decent but it's not the best out there.

No offense Coltris I did not mean for this to be a flame of any sort but please tell me your not serious with that statement? L2 is akin to eating glass. Hardcore level grind, tons of bots and alot of "You go now" crap from bots.

First and foremost do not buy...I REPEAT...do not buy Lineage 2. There are so many things wrong with that game, Im not going to list them all here...just go to Gamelist --> Lineage ][ --> Ratings and see the problems for your self.

With that said lol, mmorpgs are really how you see them to be ...if your a sci fi freak then Anarchy Online is ok (graphics arent too good anymore), EVE online is a good space simulator game, City of Heroes probably has the best combat controlled style Ive seen in a mmorpg.

Mmorpgs u probably should stay away from

1. Lineage ][ (see above)

2. Star Wars Galaxies (professions and content is still borked...soloing is ok depending on class)

3. Final Fantasy XI (pass level 15, grouping is a must......Solo is unheard of in this game unless you are a beastmaster)

4. The Sims online (America Online Instant Messenger with visual, graphical cyber sex and ebay whore houses)

5. Shadowbane

Now, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes is only in their Alpha phase but that game looks pretty interesting. If I were you, pick out a game with a 7 day free trail and check em out.

The best MMORPG I can refer to you is Star Wars Galaxies. You said that you wanted a game where you can level solo, this a game great for leveling solo and with parties. Also this game has the most replay value out of any MMORPG I have even seen. Too much stuff to list about the game, check out the review and see for yourself. World of Warcraft also looks promising but probably will require group leveling to make it go faster.

I loved Star Wars Galaxies....I wouldnt have been able to put down such a good down payment on my 2003 Ford Focus if it wasn't for that game!

I've been sucked into Pristontale.

I did Lineage II for a bit, but I can't stand playing with people who don't speak a lick of english.

As for the BEST MMORPG right now? I couldn't say... if I said "game a" was the best... I would get bashed by all the people who like "game b"... so for ME to say the BEST... is foolish.

I would tell you to go look and read up on MMORPGs via this site.... untill then...
