Eq 2 Death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

damkardamkar Member Posts: 83

Greetings,

I was wondering about death in EQII. The biggest headaches in EQI were de-levelling and corpse run. I can live with corpse run, but not de-levelling. Will this be brought into EQII as well? Can you loose levels?

I cant stand corpse runs, or de-leveling. I'd rater just lose some experience or unrare items.

I think when your character dies at the hands of undead, you ought to de-level.  Reason is it makes them so much scarier to face, like they should be.

Lots of critters should be scary to face. Hill Giants, Dragons, The DE wenches in Mistmoore, those creepy arachnids in LOIO. . .

    When you died you:

    - Lose future XP, not any currently earned XP.

    - A corpse run reduce that future XP lost, but not really require althought you want to do it, you wont cry not doing it.

    - Decay on your gear...You can make some items immune to decay, but it will be hard to do, thereby this measure is pro-hardcore and anti-casuals (and anti-non-raiders as well).

All in all, the death penalty is a HELL worser then in EQ.

I was just thinking the level-loss if defeated by undead thing because the most horrible death you can supposedly die is "undeath."  I remember in Dungeons and Dragons, how undead could level drain you simply by hitting you.  This made them especially fearful.  While losing levels everytime you're hit is a bit much, losing one for dying might be appropriate.  This will make places like Castle Mistmoore all the more frightening.
