Didn't See the Movies

So, if you didn't read the books or see the movies, do you think it would still be possible to appreciate and love the game?

Yes, but some things may be a little confusing to you at first.

Still there is so much to do, I think you will be very pleased.  I mean this is the first MMO I have heard of where your character can play music using your computer keyboard.  Some of the musician players are quite talented and there have been some excellent jam sessions in the taverns.

I do recommend that you try the open beta, and read things as you go along.  That should help you.

Yes, though right now you'd have to preorder.  On the 6th the Beta will open up to everyone I guess.

For the Open Beta on the 6th, I think that's free until launch.

My system is a AMD Sempron 1.8 Ghz, 1 gig ram, and a Nvidia 7300gt 256 mb.

The more aware of Tolkien's writings you are, the more you'll enjoy the immense amount of detail the dev's have put into the game. However, that said, it's still a fun game to play no matter what. You may not know who Radagast the Brown is when you meet him, but you can still do his quests and get good rewards, defeat evil bad guys, explore cool areas, etc.

Yes, you do not need to know any of Tolkiens lore.

This is a PVE quest game that is friendly to the casual gamer.  If that suits you then yes you will enjoy it.

Hmm... maybe. I haven't done much with the music because I've been doing so many other things, but I can't honestly say I've seen anyone playing ANY kind of drum, seems to be all wind and string. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

I think the movies better represent middle earth than this game does.
