What is this monster player thing?

in Lord of the Rings Online

Could someone explain what this monster play thing is? Players can somehow fight each other because one player fights as a monster? I want to know more.

Any links to some real information on thus?

    It's covered pretty thoroughly in the FAQ.  Basically, once you're level 10, you can go through a portal and are offered your choice of monster.  You become a level 50 monster in the Ettenmoors.  You do quests to acquire armor and such. You can fight players, level 50 also, who are on the side of the good guys. I have very little experience with it  I was an orc for an evening, and found that I prefer bopping around the Shire, at least for now.
