Rogues and Archers Unite

I have a question for all rogues and archers of mmos?  What mmo in your opinion has the best Archer or Rogue class.  I have played many mmos and I noticed some are just plain bland and some are pretty good but not quite what i want the class to be.  What do you guys think?  I just want to play a good mmo with a good archer/rogue/range/dps class all comments welcome ty and have fun playing whatever it is your playing atm.

    The Rogue in WoW is single-handedly the most powerful Rogue I have played.  In most games the rogue has a simple stealthed attack that opens and then a fairly standard set of attacks.  Rogues in WoW, on the otherhand, have many many talents and abilities which make them viable additions to PvP and PvE groups.   They also have many abilities that allow them to stay in stealth or restealth.  It is a pretty good time to be a Rogue in WoW.  In fact, right now Blizzard is working on tuning encounters to make Rogues even more viable for endgame content.

    Archers, on the otherhand, I have little experience in.  I am not a fan of shooting missles from far away.  I always feel cheap.

    Question is what kind of rogue you look for

    Best real "THIEF" rogue in mmorpg -> SHADOWBANE

    Best classic D&D like thief/rogue -> DDO (obviously)

    Most powerful rogue->WOW

    Most wanted in groups->LOTRO

    Well currently the best rogue would probably be the variants of DAOC. Dark Age of Camelot beats any other mmo hands down.  Archer classes consist of Hunter(Midgard) Scout(Albion) and the famed Ranger(Hibernia). Rogue types consist of Shadowblade(Midgard) Infiltrator(Albion...and they own) and Nightshade(Hibernia).

    Rogues of WOW are like glorified pu$$ies in E-Z mode.

    For Rogue, I would have to go with D&DO, because that is how I think a Rogue should be like. In other mmorpg's, the rogue is often used as a mellee damage dealer. this never made sense to me,A rogue is a thief, not a fighter. it could simply be fixed by adding a new name to the class.

    For Archers, I'd have to go with WoW, the hunter class is a fun class to play.

    If you are looking for a new game, the burgler and hunter in LotRO are strong classes.

    Not trying to flame you, but how anyone can play a rogue in WoW and think archer classes are cheap is hilarious.   The rogue in WoW is completely invisible in the middle of an open field, and most fights consist of spamming stun lock moves which basically prevent your opponent any chance to even draw his weapon.   If you ask me, stunning your opponents 10 times in a row while landing massive damage is a lot cheaper then shooting a bow at someone.  Don't get me wrong, I understand the concept of being an assassin type class who can unload hard and fast damage, but the rediculous amount of stunning that rogues do in a lot of the MMO's right now is absurd.  Hopefully one day a game will make a rogue who actually opens locked boxes and doors and can't go invisible in the middle of a wide open space on a sunny day.

    If a rogue in WoW couldn't stun, they probably wouldn't kill anyone in PvP.  And i probably would feel cheap if i played a hunter in WoW too.

    I would agree with DAoC having the best Archer and Rogue classes.  WoW's is pretty close in power to DAoC, but I like DAoC implementation of their rogue better.

    Lord of The Rings Online did the best job of making a burglar (rogue) wanted in groups though imo.  In WoW rogues were so unneeded in most PVE groups (can only think of a few instances where you had ot have a rogue like in BWL).  DDO did a good job as well with making a rogue be more realistic.  So many games now adays make the rogue an assassin(sp?) when really that shouldn't be very common.

    Currently playing:
    LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)

    Looking Foward too:
    Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)

    If you're looking for the best place to have roguely fun, DAoC is definitely where its at.

    I use to sneak acrossed the high level lands to get to where lv 20-30 began to venture out into the danger zone.  I would never kill anything weaker than me.  Often times I would watch a group hunting for an hour until that perfect moment to strike their healer, killing it and running off before they know whats happening.  Then I stand behind a tree and watch as they crap their pants wondering and waiting until, BOOM! the mage type gets dropped and I hide again.

    On RvR wars it was also fun as you had to sneak behind the front and take out the healers keeping the line up and running.

    I got kicked out of the lv 36-40 battle ground at lv 36 for too many kills :(
