I cant wait to Play Huxley, finally a game where my skills are actually useful.
It brought me tears in my eyes when I first heard that Lunarites can finally blow heads up off horde of Alternative zergs squaring me down from 4 corners of Xbox360 end terminals.
and yes Huxley will require 5killz0r ...
but they might need to do some fine tuning. For instance, make level means something while not discouraging low level 5killz0rz to engage high level pwnorz.
Other. Im waiting for RO2, will determine whether or not i quit the MMO genre all together.
I look at your list and i see:
Wannabe WoW 1
Wannabe WoW 2 roman version
Wannabe WoW 3
..etc
Im so sick of WoW and the companies trying to copy it im about ready to admit that the MMORPG genre has totally gone down the toilet. There are a very few select upcoming games that are going to attempt to break the mold, but the most important question is yet to be answered; Will they actually end up with a respectable player base, or will they just get crushed under foot by the generic blizzard giant.
I figure it as, EQ1 came out in 1999, WoW is basically an easier, nicer looking "MMO for dummies" version of EQ1; WoW came out in 2004. So, im thinking that around 2009 the "new to MMO's" crowd WoW's mass marketing brought in will start getting bored of what we did all those years ago, and MMO's will start evolving again from where they left off.
Like it or not, WoW set back the entire MMO genre by several years because it sold so many copies to players that were new to MMO's. Since they are in the majority now, and didn't get to play classics like EQ1, its all new to them, and we have to wait for them to get bored before any company makes a hard, serious attempt to break the generic, cut and paste formula WoW has set forth.
Marketing and bottom line are the determining factors in our MMO market now, not quality or originality (VG cough). Why im waiting for RO2, Korea has its own market, and as far as games are concerned, is in its own little world. It will probably have a nasty grind and be really hard to get gear, but at the very least, it wont be like playing WoW all over again with diffrent graphics. God bless America, the country ran by corporations that pounce like hungry wolves whenever their competitors release something that sells well.
Ya well go look at the game mechanics of Chronicles of Spellborn and tell me that its "Copying" WoW. And like someone else said, why does every game have to be compared to WoW?! Get over it, move on.
And btw, I voted for Spellborn, very original concept of combat. Truely looking foward to playing it.
I agree with inuyasha94. He obviously researched the game and saw it lacking as well. Where are the EVOLUTIONary games? I can't wait to get my hands on Assassin's Creed.
There is 3 great MMORPG I am looking forward too is the following;
1st: Warhammer Online
Im really like the old Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game and the tabletop so Im gonna give this game a huge chance and it really looking good so far. So when we hit Oktober/November I am running around as a small Gobbo
2nd: Guild Wars 2
Currently I am play Guild Wars so why now give Guild Wars 2 a chance too. Its perfect and I really like the combat system in the game. Community is superb.
3th: Ragnarok Online
Its look cute no doubt. Im gonna give this game a chance too. I watch the anime. I just pray there is coming a European server. I would hate to play on a long-call server
I will most liklely buy them all, but only one will be played as mainstream if you can call it that and the other for chill time.
