    I've been waiting for this to happen for some time.  This will not end well for Linden Labs.  Maybe while the FBI is nosing around, they will see the lack of effort to prevent minors from accessing seriously adult material, and the child-play.

    It would be really awesome if the us government made a guild in an mmorpg and employed people to farm gold for them and PL their chars.

    The states is 300 million people trashing the entire planet while 6+billion are barely making a mark and 50% or more of those people are in a state of poverty... Talk about screwed up.  We are the STD of the planet and some are proud of it... sick.

    Right and every time SL threads start you post "serious" thoughts like

    It would be hard to imagine why anyone might think you don`t consider SL a game.

    Besides... it's really only a handful of people over here who want to take on the world.  The rest of us are sort of waiting for him to leave office.  I do think, however, that this topic is sort of moving out of the MMORPG topic range.  Let's talk games, not politics.

    Go back to school you two and read up on how the government and its officials work. The FBI has nothing to do whatsoever with any of the mentioned problems, and has no jurisdiction over any portion of it. If you want to yell at somebody about that, go yell at congress. To be a little more specific, yell at the democratic half for the first problem, and both groups for the second, since they each had a major role.

    And it is a serious problem, illegal gambling is changing its "home base". gambling is gambling is gambling, whether it happens on casino.com, or in a virtual world with currency that is directly and legally transferable for real world cash.

    An additional point is that most of the online casinos were based outside of the US.  Lots of money was being sent offshore, funding who knows what.  I think that at this stage of the game, I have no issue with the FBI taking a peak.
