This game does look promising, what things have been released about it's original direction for a MMORPG could make this game really stand up. Combined with what has already been released of aspects that this game might include, I think my wishing well would also include:
-Superior graphics, on a GFX card and windows platform that doesn't require mammoth tweaking of graphic options ingame, whilst having graphics that will look good in a couple of years (similar to how EQ2 designed theirs) but which doesn't require a top notch computer.
-Memory leakage: This is something my com has had problems with for gaming, the game should play as smooth after 5 hours of playing as with 5 minutes.
-Player housing: This does not have to be complex in the sense of having huge portions of land to occupy housing elements but rather islands off the main islands (like guild wars) that enables the owner and friends to teleport back to a specific point on the main island/s.
-Weather based skills: This def looks interesting as this has never been featured before to my knowledge. How this will work exactly is unsure and how much weather would be required is an interesting debate. This would work well and add dimension to parties, especially for tough mobs/raids/dungeons that players can use the timing of the weather to maximize their skills.
Characterization: There is nothing worse than seeing everyone of the same gender of a class look the same. If this game were to leap into the needs of players and their uniqueness/bond of their characters, allow for a range of changes to their character's armor and looks. I would suggest to allow the option to change the colors of armor and weapons, character's hair colour, add a range of piercing and tattoos and guild symbols. WOW uses a tabard that is worn on the front, Guild Wars uses a back cloak. This game, I hope can add more tweaking to a person's character than any other MMORPG to date. I would even suggest adding the option to be able to change a characters name.
Flying: Alot of the hype is based on this one thing. Like FLYFF, people will really enjoy this aspect and the added news that mid flying battles will be possible could bring about a new development in how players set up and use their skills and will bring a new dimension of gameplay. At this stage, what is known is that flying will be based around certain paths of grids on the current map but freedom of movement to any location might be instore after initial feedback, with regards to population/lag/gameplay/geographics.
Skills: What is currently known is that every class will have access to skills that when in use set up combos that have a further effect or counter effect. This is indeed a new concept to utilizing skills and timing that means the player gets more involved in the fighting process rather than the usual hack and slash or knowing which skill to use next. What this means is players have more decision making with regards to what to use next, depending on the situation. What is really promising is the idea that certain basic skills and/or combos can be combined with other players in a party's skills to bring about a bigger effect. This means that classes will be better utilized in a party rather than just being a straight out DPS class, or healer, or even just a tank. A whole new idea of decision making process in the making.
Geographics: Curently, there are aspects of the scenery that will directly effect a character rather than acting as just a wall or non passable object. News is that players will be able to climb and utilize more of the scenery. WoW has players been able to run and move up objects, like mountains and bridges but much of the scenery is based around things to move around rather than up. I would like to see a new dimension where most things (trees, walls, buildings) are able to be climbed. This is certainly not to the point where every player is just a climbing spiderman but wouldn't it be different to be able to climb some huge tree high in the sky?
Music: I've always enjoyed the asian type music in gaming as it is typically more orchestral and has a unique sound, to the point where you just like staying in one area just to hear the music over and over again. Luckily, this game's music has a new age orchestrated sound with an asian sound to it, composed by Ryo Kunihiko. I would hope that the music is really captivating for every type of scene and scenery and would further wish that for every type of music been played that there are several versions of it. This would be a new idea, but would be similar to how many dance tracks nowadays have one original track but others take it and make it the same basic melody but a different version of it. Players would be able to have their favourite version of the music been played and can switch back to the original if they like. There could be 3 or 4 different versions as well as the original. This would add variety to the player's listening experience.
Random Events: This has been tried to some success to my knowledge, but since this game is based around not having a set server (based on PVP or PVE) but rather having players change how the server shapes out, random events would be an interesting concept. These would be certain events that could change certain geographics on a server, or the balance between good vs evil. It is common to have town raids where opposing factions attack the main cities but a random event could change the balance between the two and create opportunities for town/city raids. I would add further to create rewards for successful town/city raids which would push players to be on a defense. Random events would also be an interesting feature as it would bring about player response and fun, with or without warning. Since this is an MMORPG, the game will be constantly evolving and random events could bring opportunity for "once in a while or even a lifetime" armor or weapon rewards.
Dungeons: Any MMORPG gamer will tell you "Yes, I've done this raid 50 times now, my guild knows exactly what to expect around the corner" but this idea would be harder to put into reality. This would mean alot more work for developers and programmers to have to change a particular dungeon or even big raid layout. Would it have to change everytime? I don't see how this could be done, but having a different layout to a dungeon would be an interesting idea. The debate is that the dungeon could be become too hard to work through for players and that the layout might be either too easy or too hard in getting items.
Overall: I'm really anticipating this game as for one it is trying to do some things differently or doing an existing MMORPG concept to a larger scale. Secondly, the graphics look promising and the type of graphics don't look too "cartoony" and the music sounds great. What about the gameplay? We'll have to see, I would hope that it is fluid in movement and it is both obsorbing and fun.
I would like to know what other "wishing well" ideas you would like to see in this MMORPG. What are your thoughts??

This is the only game I have ever been really hyped about.
I would LOVE to see persistant player housing.
Aerial combat will actually be the focus of PvP so you will flying more often than not.
I hope what I read is true and that experianced is gained per hit, instead of per kill, innovation even so small is always nice.
I hope they come though with there promise of great character customisation, the possibilities of wings and whatnot are amazing.
We know the music is going to be amazing.
The servers having a PvP or a PvE label has nothing to do with the changing of the worlds based on player actions. The servers still could have rulesets. The whole player action thing is based on what players do within the world, and it is supposed to change how the world looks, feels and acts, so one world could be very demonic in areas whereas another could be very angelic in areas, thus all servers will be different in some way. (I think that is how it works)

But for some reason, I'm not holding my breath about this. It's ok, it should still be an interesting game.
lots of keybindings, and a big variety of options when u create ur toon.
the characters movement and swings look realy nice, but from a video i saw, the pace of the fight is very slow, and all u do is stand there still casting or swinging :
the sounds of the spells and skills sound a bit pew pew -ish but its just alpha right?
music is realy nice.
i also hope that its not a farm-fest like wow. and ppl will actualy pvp there.

(trolling? maybe) i do have to agree with you all, this game looks so awesome, like it came right out of a movie or something...and i know that since its from ncsoft, it looks somewhat like lineage 2 imo...but i too am eager to try this game out, i just hope its something a bit different than lineage 2 where the grind isnt forever (but every game is a grind fest no matter what anyone say)...but nonetheless it looks very promising...
SOOOO.....hopefully these won't be problems.

PS:Trailers look very nice and the sound is very amusing and inspiring.
Also, Aion is being prepared for a global release - that is, a release in NA, korea, europe etc. at the same time.
There's one point I have to disagree with you there ben. And that is, where'd you get the information that "The beta for Korea isn't even coming out until late this year or early next year. " From what i've read and heard, Aion is being prepared to be released late this year, including the extra time for unexpected delays. I know im planting hope into many eyes but seeing this, but oh well. If for some reason it doesnt get released this year many will be disappointed ^^ But a late finished product is better than an early incomplete product.
lol...you're so right about that "of the future".
Dude, this game uses Crytek engine. Meaning that not even 8800 is powerful enough to run this thing.
Now you've got to be kidding if a 8800 doesn't run this, NcSoft is great at making games with excellent graphics without needing "uber" computer specs.
I played FarCry(uses crytek engine) with an ATI 9200 and I was only lagging at startup then everything went fine.
if Aion not going to out soon..
Imma need a rocking chair soon
Looking at videos of Aion, it looks like they added wings to L2 and slapped on a new name. Doesnt matter what engine they use, its made in Asia so its going to be another grind fest so who cares. So because you are better than someone you should be penalized? Did you think this through? In fact, I hope they do put this in game, will make me lawl more. And I need my lawls.

Wow, nice going. You failed to read any of the numerous features that this game is promising yet you play mmorpgs? You just assumed whatever your ignorant brain desired and made a whole post about it. Nice one.
This is not going to be another grind fest, it is essentially a western mmo. You think asians don't like western mmos? Look at WoW. That is about enough as I need to say to conclude that you are an idiot. This game is being made for anyone who wants to play it, stop with the generalisations. Read the features. If it's still not your thing then good for you, don't play it.
I am glad you won't be playing Aion, and I feel terribly sorry for whatever game you end up playing. Your the kind of person no-one wants in their mmorpg.

It would take you less then 5 minutes to find this:
http://pc.ign.com/articles/708/708762p1.html
"Play as a Demon or Angel in a Korean MMO that breaks with level-grinding."
"According to Yong Taek Bae, Associate Producer for NCsoft Seoul, there will be none of the level-grinding which is common in Korean MMOs. Although not fully disclosed at this time, the leveling-up system will be different from what you would normally expect."
don't even bother replying to me, you already lost the arguement. sit back, keep your mouth shut and accept that you know nothing of this title.
