What class are you and which do you like most?

in Lord of the Rings Online
I've been contemplative about all of the classes.  Not sure what to go, tried a hunter, I like it but I wanna make sure I don't just pick a Rogue or Hunter type class and play WoW all over again.  How are the Champion classes etc?  Are they fun, reliable solo?  Etc?

    So far I've only played champion, burglar and a little guardian.

    Champions are pretty nice. They can deal some nice dmg and do good AoE. Probably the best against many classes. Easy at soloing, only went to lvl 11 tho. They are fun to play and can do some pretty funky moves.

    Burglars are much more fun. Burglars got some really funky moves like Riddle, where u actually tell the mob a riddle to make them stunned. They can do evasion making them have 50% bigger chance to evade, for 15 seconds! This is a really nice skill and is really useful, u are nearly unkillable for the 15 seconds u use it. It also only has a 5 minute cooldown, so u can use it pretty often. Burglars can also "stealth", it's pretty easy for the mobs to see u and u have to really sneak around the mobs, but it's nice. I managed to deal 68 dmg at lvl 6 with my burglar, nearly 1shot a mob, at my lvl.

    Guardians are nice. I've not played much of them but they seem to kill pretty slow, but are on the other hand nearly unkillable. Can't say much more about them.

    Im currently playing a Champion.  They are pretty fun and good at soloing.  Have taken on 4 mobs my level or a level below in a row and didn't die so they seem to do alright.

    I love the Burglar. They have great burst damage, but besides that they are not a DPS class at all. People argue whether they are even 3rd in the DPS list. Burglars are all about playing smart - using your tricks, burst damage, crowd control, and particularly conjunctions properly. Conjunctions are AMAZING group abilities, and Burglars are the only class with 2 skills and 1 class item that can nearly guarantee a conjunction. I've had no problem soloing as well with my Burglar.

    Minstrel, because its real music, baby ^^... No actually I wanted this class as a core class since ever, its always been a buff-bot class only, in every single game it was like "okaaay, a bard, whatever, if nobody else's around"... But not, LotRO, the first time I get to play "my" class AND be one of the core-classes.

    I was thinking about hunter too, but I take any bet, that the elven hunter will be the char every 12-year old plays and it will be terribly overpopulated. I see this coming like in WoW, where Hunters where and are classes that nobody wants to group/raid/guild with...

    I like Guardian and Minstrel, and currently playing the Minstrel more. It's a pretty darn good solo class for a healer. Only to level 10 and don't really have any good group-centric songs.



    Oddly, I like the Guardian even though I normally HATE playing tanks in other games. They have some nice shield attacks, and have skills that are only activated when you successfully block or parry, so it keeps you on your toes during combat and gives you something to shoot for as you level (increase block/parry). I was trying an Elf guardian but got annoyed when a Dwarf champion at the same level had way more HP (aka morale) than me!



    Oddly as well, I'm not thrilled with the Champion even though I usually LIKE dps melee'ers. Hunter is ok, not as much fun as in WoW, but maybe more "down to earth".

    As long as this game doesn't get like WOW in grp situations. The thing that made WOW so bad for me was the dps calculator types, that think if a certain class isn't the highest in dps, they are worthless in a grp, (cough hunters). I would hope that type of situation isn't what LOTR is all about.

    Definitely my favorite class. Does a bit of everything so it tends to keep my attention better than other classes :)

    I am playing an hunter

    Sometimes i just run around the different forests and hunt wild animals for hours, just simply hunt like a hunter

    It is awesome

    I have tried everything but a burglar and the lore master is by far my favorite, which is odd because normally I cannot stand pet classes.

    I have always like the stealth classes - Rogues  , Assassins , Burglars  ect ect ..  Rangers as well but for the most part Ranger's are to weak in every MMO i have played apart from Asherons Call

    I'm playing a champion as my main level 15 sitting on 1gold 550silverish Grand Master Prospector.... Tier 3 nearly mastered weaponsmith.... It's going smooth... I still am using crap for armor tho... Wish they would increase the cap to level 20 so I could have a full suit of heavy armor made.

    i play lore master because they r good at close and ranged combat and they have some awsome spells! plus those ravens can seriously save your ass when ur being jumped lol

    I just got my Captain to 8, they are rocking.  I hope I won't regret not choosing Champion though

    As a champion it's all about killing quickly before you drop - I have taken 3 barrow wights yellow to me at once in barrows with blowing my instant 3 fervor cooldown... I tried the captain - They seem pretty good but a little lacking in the DPS and tossing in a few buffs. :)

    I'm playing a Champion as my main.  I wish I had more time to game, because I have played all the classes and they are all fun to me.  Turbine has done a great job with making the classes fun and unique.
