360 and wireless network

KyorutoKyoruto Member Posts: 794
I'm looking forward to getting a 360 in the near future. And as it stands my TV is far way from my router (Which happens to be wireless) so I was just wondering if there is a way for me to hook the 360 to the internet without an ethernet cable?

Yes, but you will have to buy a wireless adapter for about 70$.

I might do that then. (Since its really annoying to see a wire hanging down from the second story)

would you have any recommendations? OR would any wireless adapter work?

I don't know if any one will work but I know the Xbox one should be good. I'm pretty sure you can find a used one though.

Nice! Are you using just a normal one or the one Riki was mentioning?

Using the USB plug only the official MS wireless adaptor will work. There are other options which you plug an ethernet cord fro the 360 to a wireless bridge of sorts, but I wouldn't suggest them. They are about the same money in general, but most do not have full setup options limiting your wireless setup. Some limit your password options and most don't use the higher end security features.

There are options which do support all the 802.11 variant functions, but those start at about $200 so not worth looking into, unless you need ahub under your TV also...but even then I wouldn't bother.
