should i wait for EQ2 to buy?

castarcastar Member Posts: 19
i posted earlier about starting everquest and got somegood feedback.  thanks.  i now have another question.  should i wait and buy EQ 2?  do i have to have the first one to use 2?  Will more people start playing when EQ2 comes out?  sry for so many questions but i just want to know what everyone thinks is best.  i don't have any financial problems so i'm open to suggestions what extra things like expansions or graphics cards would make this as good as it can be.  thanks everyone.  yall are great.  i love this site.

The min requirements are out for what EQ2 will need to run. They have that on the official site. As for waiting or not...well that depends because the way it is looking EQ2 is maybe if we are all lucky going to be out by end of this year. Might make live sooner but I am expecting it to be that long. So really depends on if you have something else to keep you entertained until it finally goes live. Me I repurchased it and I am enjoying it while I wait. I for one don't see me jumping in and buying EQ2 until I get some real first hand info on just what it is all about. ::::38::

If it were me i'd find a game to hold me over to EQ2, but i've also heard that your characters carry over to EQ2 so u could try to get ready for EQ2 by getting a char. in EQ. Its your choice really but if it were me i'd wait.

Actually what you should really do is pass on EQ all together and just get WOW image

how optimistic of you.  why would someone like you be posting on the EQ forum???  you'rs just asking to get nailed by the EQ fanatics.  lol.  just kidding.  i was even considering that.  if EQ is not as good as it is portrayed then i will quit and find a new game.  apart from all the good that i have heard about EQ, i have also heard about a lot of bad.  (poor fighting, redundant leveling, lack role-play even.)  well we'll just see.   BYE

Characters in EQ will NOT carry into EQ2..They have made that clear. They say the engine and such will not allow anything from EQ to be transferred to EQ2. Everyone will be starting from the square one. Nooobs all of us will be nooobs with no twinking...::::31::

everquest 1 is pretty much pointless now to start new.. most low levels are twinks. its all about leveling up to 65 and then its all about raiding.. pretty much getting good equipment now is in the bazaar or waiting for the higher levels to give it to you.

    Great game.. in its day

Yes, all of us beginning EQ2 will be noobs with no twinking, but the biggest noobs will be those who recently bought EQLive and levelled up a character thinking it could transfer over into EQ2.
