Hmm.. interesting, though i can't read it, looks to be a new update after Interlude.  I guess more announcement on this very soon.   Anyway, a preview site:

    They will release more information on April 11th. It's the introduction of a new race, roughly translated to "Fallen Angels". It's the first major update after interlude.

    Grah... I am going to quit wasting my time studying Irish (Gaelic) and learn Korean instead. I'd get a lot more mileage out of it. My inability to read Korean has been getting on my nerves for some time now. (Ok, that was 99.9% off-topic... but I mean it!)

    Actually there has always been a winged race in L2 lore.  They served the Giants for a time and did not enter the world politics, prefering to keep to themselves. Not to mention the Angels and Fallen Angels already in the game(npc and mobs).

    Sayha instilled the spirit of wind into the fourth form. This is how the race of arteias was created.

    If you will watch the "Making of Interlude" video on the official site, you will see that they talk a little bit about the new player race in there.

    The creatures mentioned are "Fallen Angels" but the playable race is supposed to be the Atreas. Completely different. And the preview website says that they are to be "enjoyed" by everyone, not played. I could be wrong so we will have to wait til the 11th. I would not put much weight into a new playable race though.

    Oh, I see what you're saying. So because in the Making-of video, they said they hadn't decided on the name of the new race, and because the translated name "Fallen Angels" is not the same as the not-decided-on translated name "Arteia", they couldn't possibly be the same thing. Yeah, obviously, you must be right.

    Well, it just doesn't add up. The ones featured in the preview are dark creatures, but the Arteia don't match that description. But like I said, I could be wrong so we'll have to wait until the 11th to know for sure. There's no reason to be hostile.

    omg... just WATCH THE VIDEO already. The developer says right there, on the video, that the name hadn't been decided. Here, I'll even quote it for you:

    The Making of Interlude
    The suggestions collected on various forums helped us to develop interesting new ideas. One such idea has helped us create and shape an entirely new race. Arteia has been suggested as a name for the race, but this has yet to be decided.

    I'll even link you to the movie: The Making of Interlude - And to make it even easier, the part about the new race starts at 2:06.

    I'm not saying that the preview site is revealing these guys as a new player race - not only have they not released that info yet, but I don't read Korean. I just think it's stupid to throw out the idea that it's even a possibility based off of flawed information.

    They talked in the video about how Interlude is kind of like a new beginning, how they finished everything they set out to accomplish in the Chronicles and now they were starting with new and fresh ideas, etc. etc. If they are working on a new player race, it makes sense to me that they would release it with the first Interlude and not wait till I4 or some random update to introduce it.

    Arteias were defined as the last race since open beta seeing as how they are the final race which was born from the only missing element in game. People have known that they were going to introduce the arteias for over 2 years now. There is nothing from the preview site that says that the new race is going to be playable or that these are the arteias. There is nothing that states that they may be an npc race at first and become playable in a future chronicle like how DE were in Lineage 1. And all of this is in the realm of possibility b/c NCSoft has stated they wanted to introduce an NPC race that al the players fight against as a nation war.



    I don't know why you are getting butthurt over this. All I said was that they had a new race and I was doubtful that it would be playable. I even said I could be wrong and we'll have to wait until the 11th b/c all the information is speculation. Like I said, I don't know why you are being so anal retentive about it. If we get a new playable race, then great. However, from playforum it seems like they will not be playable.

However, your replies to me have all been made with a higher-than-thou, I-can't-possibly-be-wrong attitude and so I was just pointing out some flaws in your 'logic'. I might ask you, why do you keep reading my replies as "hostile"? Do you even read the reply before you answer? I do wonder, since in my second post I said "in the Making-of video, they said they hadn't decided on the name of the new race" and in your next reply you said "I don't know where you heard that the 6th race never had a defined name". I had just flippin' said that I heard it on the video. If anything, I am amazed at your stupidity, not butt-hurt in the least. I really don't care whether they make a new race, playable or not. And I don't care about the lore of the game either - it doesn't make one whit of difference when you're playing the game that LEs are supposed to hate DEs. I'm just pointing out that it's a possibility that the race the devs were working on in the video is the same race as the images on the preview site. If not, I really don't care. Your attitude is what ticks me off, not whether or not I'm right or you're right.

    Anyway, I'm done. Neither one of us knows what they're going to reveal. We both admit that we don't know and it's stupid for us to continue to talk or argue about it, especially when I don't even care one way or another what they reveal.

    I think you should learn how to read. Maybe then you wouldn't be so angry as often.
