I've played on a PvP server... VZ.. for the last 4 years. In the beginning it was fun even into Kunark a bit. But now the PvP is almost none exsistant and not fun to play at all. Basically it's all PvE with the occasional ''ganking' to get an XP spot.

Best comic ever =P
I loved pvp in eq, but I haven't played for almost 2 years so i'm sure some things have changed. I was disapointed though playing on the team servers after awhile because there were too many x-teamers so any time I wanted to start some pvp someone in my group would complain that they knew them or something. It just ruined the whole experience of team pvp like the other poster said. Though earlier it was great getting together your guild going out hunting slaying the enemy as they crossed your path.
After that I played on the team diety server ( forget the name ) but it was pretty fun since you could be attacked by anyone which increased the sense of danger. I'd start fighting with people way up over my level for the challenge and sometimes won...well against casters anyways.
I tried the regular pvp server with loot and it was a little strange. I didnt know anyone so I found I trusted no one so ended up being a loner on there which was a little boring. Most of the other peoples chars were twinked so being my first char on there it was a little tough. My first fight was against this ranger, he was twinked, so I waited for him to finish his fight then I killed him lol...is that bad?....he swore at me up and down but he had pegasus leggings and other decent items for the time and I had a newb tunic so I figured it was fair...but I felt too guilty and left the server.
If pvp was never introduced in eq in the first place I wouldnt have played it the 3 years that i did because I got bored with pve after half a year.
If only they made the pvp servers so you could only pick one side and have to stick with it regardless then maybe that would have helped rid some of the x-teaming.
yep, or if you don't have them sold locally you can just get a bank account. Then you can find a place online where they accept wire trasnfer and your set.

Try GuildWars they don't require a monthy fee
Actually alot of people found PVP to be quite entertaining early on...
I personally think that EQ2 has even more potential to have good PVP seeing as the light an dark races are currently seperated into 2 cities. It sets the perfect stage for a good VS evil type PVP environment.
I know they have said no PVP but hear me out. As long as they do it on a seperate server and do not attempt to balance out the classes I think it would be an exciting and fun experience. You could get a chance to see what skills you have. Strategy would be key since they wouldnt be trying to even out the classes so they are all equal. We would have to play to our strengths to win wich means picking the right time and place to attack and knowing when to run.
PVP isnt fun for a lot of people because they think that they should just be able to walk up to people and start a fight. They do something stupid like standing toe to toe with a warrior and then complain that their wizard who technically does more damage lost a fight. This is not smart PVP and those people will never like it until they learn how to be smart.
Instead of crying nerf all the time people should learn how to play their class.
ROLEPLAYERS UNITE!!!!!
Critical thinking is a desire to seek, patience to doubt, fondness to meditate, slowness to assert, readiness to consider, carefulness to dispose and set in order; and hatred for every kind of imposture.
PvP aspect has and always will be fun. I thought the whole idea of fantasy roleplaying games was to destroy evil or good whenever you come across it. So the fact of Pve just really killed the idea of playing EQ2, but then again it could be a good thing since on EQ we had a whole bunch of titty babies always bitchin about how another class is better than them. Just curious what is it that peeps have against bards anyways, talk about a class that got pumped in the butt without the courtesy of a reach around. I mean, did they get screwed or did they get screwed. But alas thats from the evergoing bitchin 9nerfing) that other classes get as a penalty to the titty babies out there who dont know how to play EQ... So the fact that there isnt pvp just might be for the best, lord knows what they would nerf next.
P.S. I am curious to see how bards do play in EQ@, especially without twisting.. oh yeah instead of buying your accounts, try reading the manual first.. figure it might help in the decreasing of nerfing.

Also my magelo
Granted his gear isn't the best but the gear isn't all that makes a character. With a SK it takes a lot of skill too.

The item loot option was imo, the best......I have yet to come across another game that offered the option of looting an item from someone......not just a random item...you actually got to pick...(unless, of course, it was no drop or hand held).............When sony finally took this option out.....I could no longer play.....not because I constantly hunted peeps for items....but...well...I guess it just took a certain mysticism from the game.....I was no longer worried about being ganked....or trying to protect my gear.....oh well.....maybe one day another game will be introduced with similar pvp loot features.
