I haven't played WoW since last summer and quit not because of the game but a shitty community full of 12 year old kids. Has anything really changed, is WoW worth going back to with Burning Crusade out?
Yes. Give it a try. The community is pretty much the same I suppose. With that I mean good, atleast I think it's a nice community.
The game is pretty much the same as before. U lvl up to 70 and do the same stuff as u did on lvl 60, it's not really anything new. If u liked the content before, u will like it now too. If u didn't like the content before, then u will probably not like the game now either.
Once u hit 70 u will only need to join a nice guild, and u got no problems with these "kids" (lucky u who just dinged mature, u became 18 years old). It's worth a try.
Its not a bad game. If your going to choose an MMO youll end up running across annoying people no matter which title you run with. Those 12 year olds are 13 now and still spam Chuck Norris jokes.
Burning Crusades gave each type of player something to spend time on which is good. From my experience the game over all doesnt offer much of a challenge unless your running through end game content.
PVP is still fast paced and the new arena rewards arent too shabby, so punt your local gnome.
The quests are more enjoyable, and easier to figure out too. Dont expect to have godly gear unless you have godly amounts of time to spend playing though.
2. goin to a better more mature game ( Lord of the rings online)
LOL.
And you think the kids won't start playing LotRO??? Most of them aren't organized enough to get into the Beta, but once the game hits retail it will be swamped. If anything I'd expect the average maturity of WoW players to go up once LotRO comes out. Where else do you think the Legolas wannabes will go?
There are still annoying people who spam up the chats and/or beg etc, but you're going to find that on any game really.
I recently did a dungeon with a group of random people and they were great. We all got along, worked together and overall it was an enjoyable experience. So even though there are annoying kids around, there are still plenty of mature players to interact with.
I would recommend going on again, you can always stop playing after a month if you don't enjoy it.

Whether or not you decide to play any MMO after a long time out is up to you, not us. Everyone has different viewpoints and perceptions of the games they play.
If you want to bad enough, then you'll return. If you need someone to persuade you to come back, then sorry, don't bother, just go play something else!

Hmm... you play Maple Story...and are worried about too many kids in WOW?
The community is what you make of it... I was in some very good guilds when I played WOW..and never really had any complaints about the overall community.
Like someone said...if you like WOW's gameplay, (I grew tired of it) then you'll love TBC.... it is definitely more of what was previously delivered...

I find it funny that he quite because of "the kids", now im sure he researched and did several studies of the ingame population and the age of the players to come to the conclutions its "full of 12 year old kids", failing that I am sure he obtained the information for an offical source which he can share with us.
But the guys been playing Maplestory and complains about kids... LOL!

Flaming me for playing Maple Story doesn't help me or answer my question. I guess it goes to show how mature you two are, oh and yes I play Maple Story and enjoy playing that game with Real Friends not people I meet off a virtual chat room. Anything else to add to your Maple Story flame? Oh and by the way the avarage age of gamers are around 3x-4x so I would say good job in being a smart ass and wrong at the same time.
I don't care to defend myself to why I play games you think are "kiddie" because a lot of adults play Maple Story, even though a lot are kids. Oh there are more mature 8 year olds on Maple Story than half the high school drop outs here.
I get my paycheck in soon so I guess I might as well give it another try for a month, the biggest problem is I don't know people that play World of Warcraft mostly RTS and FPS games.
P.S.
Great job cupertino, come back when you can spell simple words like "everything", not "everyting". It's so sad that my niece who is 3 years old spells better than a full grown 26 year old girly-man living in his mother’s basement.

Sigils answer to everyting... "can you bumpmap that?"
You make valid points about Maple Story having plenty of adults (I'll take your word for it, I haven't played it). But the same could be said about WoW, and if you pick the right servers, you'll find that kids are few and far between.
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

I found a lot of adults in RP servers to be honest but I wasn't that into RPing but I rarely found bad people at all. I guess what I'm going to do is just accept no matter what MMORPG I play there will be idiots and people out there to ruin your experience and just ignore it and enjoy the game and what’s good about the community.
