when i first started playing runescape i thought that it was the best game i've ever played (mostly because i was a real addict) and it introduced me to mmorpgs. my account level is 56 or 57 or something like that and after that i just got bored of it. i mean the idea of the game was okay but the point of it just seemed to lost. ppl started using autominers, autowoodcutters...and other stuff that gives players unfair advantages. runescape is just no fun anymore. it was fun doing some of the quests but after a while they were just things that were kinda there. although i was a f2p player i just got bored. now all i want to know is if paying to become a member is really worth it? from my point of view all i see is just more quests, more land to walk around and more types of armour like trimmed stuff, but this is just from the point of view of a non-member...is being a member worth my while?

Dear God man, this will probably be the only time i recommend this at all, but go play WoW. If you don't want to pay per month, try Fly for fun, hell maple story even. Runescape is just awful, seriously, its awful, even for a free game. Back in the day when it came out as one of the first actual f2p MMO's, it was a decent game on the novelty that it was really the first of its kind, but now i wouldn't even play it if they paid ME to do it, its just bad.
If money is the issue and you don't want to go the pay 2 play per month route, try fly for fun or rappelz, chances are one of those will catch your eye. Or anything really, aslong as its not runescape. These days its borderline taboo to say "runescape" and "MMORPG" in the same sentence. Runescape is a game that should have just died gracefully along time ago. The first of its kind really, and a fairly innovative idea, but dragging it out as much as they have is just turning it into a joke.
Im assuming it was your first and only MMO? Time to give it up man, there are so many games, free to play too, that are so much better now. Instead of considering becoming a member, just move on to bigger and better things. Right now im playing fly for fun, and im a long time p2p mmo gamer, and its good enough to hold my attention. Although i will admit, it could use alot more polish and it took some time to grow on me (the game doesn't really get good till your atleast level 30, and it just keeps getting better on up), its a very fun game once you give it a chance. And yes, i have played runescape before, and it was difficult for me to fathom how people played it when it first came out, but people still playing it now..i'm losing brain cells just attempting to contemplate that.
Someone help this man! Layer on the links, do something, hes actually thinking about paying for runescape!
You shouldn't be looking to be convinced to do anything, thats lame. You act like we have something to gain by you joining the game we like. The only thing i have to say is that lvl 57 isn't very big (even for free to play). If you ever decide to go back to runescape i suggest getting to lvl 100 then join a clan on an external cummunity site.
You will probably get bored of most games you try if you dont get involved in the community.
EDIT: incase your wondering i dont play anymore but i have a free account aswell (never been a member). Ive played for over 5 years and i spent 4.5 of those in a clan which im still a member of. If your just into quests and new armour you will get BORED very fast. Runescape is all about clan wars and player killing, most people quit before they even realise that.
