Bounty Hunting 'n Business

mphilipsmphilips Member Posts: 24
Hey, I've tried eve out a few times with 14 day trials and I am thinking of starting another trial up but I want to ask a few questions before I do. I would really love to play some sort of sneaky bounty hunter. (IE. Stealth/Cloak and stalk my prey and destroy him). I'm curious if this is even a viable option?

If it is then how long do you think it would take to reach a point where I could start that? Even on low PC targets that have a bounty.

One more question.  I've always started the game with a combat focus but I do have an interest in the business side. Could anyone give a very brief summarized explanation of how the basics of business work in eve and what you could do if you chose that skill set at the start? Is it viable in the short term? (month or so)

 Thanks

Basically Bounty hunting is Eve's weak point.  There is just no reason to do it.  It does not pay for itself.  Remember you are not praying on the weak, as pirates do, you are praying on ships decked out in T2 equipement so you are going to lose some and win some.

There have been some rumblings from the Devs on changing this, but I have seen no concrete changes or even a timetable so I assume any change will be next year at best.

What the guy above said is true. You can possibly do this, but it doesn't pay much. Most solo players who have cloaking ships are pirates who attack less equipped ships. Can still be fun though.

Well, I'm not concerned with payment as much as I am hurting the pirates. I don't know how pvp works in eve since I've never gotten to that point, but I always liked the idea of being somewhat feared by pirates as a bounty hunter who could appear out of nowhere and destroy you and quickly leave.

There are Anti-pirate corps you can join where they focus on killing pirates.
