Few questions

I've just been really bored lately, and I've been seriously considering buying this game and playing it again on xbox 360. I played it for a very short while back when it first came out, but I was younger then and sillier and actually expected more progress and rewards to come from only playing for a little while. Im a retired WoW player and have been thinking that maybe going back to try this game out again wouldn't be such a bad idea. Obviously I'll want to get a usb keyboard and all, that's if i can even freaking find the game for sale anywhere, NO stores near me have it, the guy at gamestop today even just gave me a hilarious look and was like, "They actually made it for that system? You sure?" But anywho, yeah I'm really hoping to start playing it soon, and I just had a few questions-

1. Is the population still decent enough on any server that I could find a lower level group to grind out levels with? And if not on any server, is there a particular server that's still pretty populated that would be good for a new person to start on?

2. Random question-- Do they make usb mice for 360? Or does any usb mouse work? Cuz that'd be awesome.

3. Are there any avid players still out there that have a linkshell of active members who would be accepting enough to help out a new person willing to commit some time to seriously start playing again. It would really be nice to join a fun social group and start playin with you guys.

    1. Population is not a problem, at least not on Fenrir.

    2. Can't help you with 360 hardware stuff - sorry

    3. There are lots of linkshells. Some are for all lvls, some are for high lvls, some for special stuff (dynamis, sky, etc). Just join the game and do some shouts asking for a friendly guild which accept new players. Personally I'm in a great linkshell myself, but this is not a newbie ls, so I can't invite you - sorry. Most ppl in this game are very nice and friendly, so if the ls you join isn't, don't hesitate, just leave and find a new one.

    Other comments:

    Since you played it for a very short period earlier, I guess you didn't really learn much about it. Since you are a former WoW player, I'll have to warn you: this is NOTHING like WoW, if that's what you are looking for, you WILL be disappointed. I've played both games, and I love them both, but compared to FFXI, WoW is extremely shallow. FFXI is also a game which will take a lot of time to progress in, and I'm not only talking about lvls here.

    Please don't be afraid to hit enter a few extra time when posting. So much text in one paragraph is not very easy to read

    Thanks for the response :D  I'll probably end up getting it this weekend or sometime near it, and I guess we'll see how it goes from there.  I'm totally aware that its nothing like WoW, and that's one of the main reasons I started thinking about playing again, hehe.  But yeah maybe I'll give Fenrir a look at when I'm creating my brand new TaruTaru Blm :).

    well on ragnarok no problem with people here

    and about 360 with the mouse eh dont know i play on pc and 360 so i dont think a mouse would work but try =P



    and yes pretty sweet game been playing sience 03 =P

    Sweet I'm excited I finally found a copy at a store so I'm gonna get it today.  Hurraaaay!!

    So on your guys servers, fenrir and ragnarok the population is good, but is there a semi decent population of lower levels?  Or am I going to be soloing until 30, which would take a few years heh.  Just curious

    There's always high level people taking out low level jobs. That's the best thing about this game, there's no need to start a whole new charatcer when you wanna try a different job. On my server, (Unicorn) anytime I wanna bust out a low level job I have, an invite is never a problem. And I'm sure it's the same on any server

    youll start to party at 10 and theres allways people that wanna lvl lower jobs your never alone =)

    Unicorn = best server :)
