So is this open beta considered beta 2? I need help.

I was in closed beta but for some reason or another uninstalled the client afterwards. I pre ordered the game at eb games but never got my pre order box so I got an activation key by signing up at the LOTRO website. I downloaded the client and activated my key.
Under my turbine account it says i am subscribed to LOTRO Beta 2.
I log into the game and patch. The only thing I can click is LOTRO open beta 2 and continue. So I do that and all the servers are closed. Am I stil logging into closed beta? Im so confused!
Also, if i am playing with a code i got through email not through a pre order box will i be able to carry my character over? Thanks!

Real life brings repetition and pointlessness too. The only thing real life offers is Great graphics. Its kinda expensive too and way to dependent on the cash shop. Totally pay to win as well. No thank you. Ill stick to my games.

u cant play right now beta ended last night and the pre-time

No u will not be able to play.
If u preorder u can start playing April 14.
If u buy it in a shop it will be April 24.

I'm playing open beta. I preordered the game, received a beta key through email, downloaded and voila, no probs. Closed beta characters have been wiped, open beta characters can be be carried through past April 24 when the game goes live for good but there is a lvl 15 cap until the 24th. I expect to reveive the box in the mail soon after the 24th.
You are getting responses from European players, who are under different Beta rules than here in the US. Their open beta doesn't begin until the 14th... while the US began on April 6th. (March 30th for pre-orders)
From what I read, you have activated a Beta 2 key, but not a Pre-order key. I had same issue...when my Beta 2 key is all I had activated, I saw the full server list..but I couldn't access them. I had to log into my Turbine account, and enter a pre-order key (which came in my retail package that I picked up from EB) and all the servers became available.
Somehow your Turbine account hasn't been activated properly and you might have to contact support if you actually have a pre-order key.
