I don't see any reason why the countries around Israel are STILL trying to fight it. I mean, they all got beat IN A ROW during the 6 Day War, you'd've thought they'd've learnt...

    Yeah, I don't agree with the Israelis because I think they are there for the wrong reason.

    I don't really care though. They are the better fighters, they won their land fair and square. They sure as hell are some bad asses. Pretty much their entire Army can be compared with the US Rangers.

    Looks like your the kind of guy who would beg for mercy from someone that has just slaughtered your family just becouse they are considerably stronger than you. Good luck with that. As far as it goes for military strenght they are indeed the best army around this day.  That is an amazing feat considering unlike USA they are conscript army.

    Honestly, if Israel didnt have the United States backing it throughout the years the Arab countries would've wasted them, and even with our help some of those early wars were very close. Great fighters doesnt mean as much as advanced military technology and a superpower with aircraft carriers nearby watching your back. And they cant be that good if they havent beaten their enemies after about 60 years of fighting. Their brutality is what really makes people want to fight them (I dunno about you, but if some country killed my family... chances are good that I'd grab an AK-47 and try and get even), and it'll keep going on until they either change their methods or kill everyone else, literally.

They teach there children values and the will to fight against evil.

    First off, American media is very pro-Israel. Most Americans are very pro-Israel. You cant say anything against Israel in this country without being slammed as being an anti-Semite, which is an inaccurate label. You conservatives forget that the largest media outlet is owned by Rupert Murdoch (Fox News), and is incredibly conservative and has the most viewers. Radio is also dominated by conservatives.

    No one won the war in the summer. All that was really achieved in any direction was that Israel made even more enemies and gave Hezbollah more support by bombing civilian districts. If the UN hadnt stopped it, they probably would've just killed everyone in the country.

    The US has been supplying Israel with military technology since the Kennedy administration. The 6 Day war occurred after the JFK administration. We also supplied diplomatic support as well, and the fact that we had a powerful naval and nuclear presence in the area is a nice way to exert support for a nation.

    Support or detraction of Israel has nothing to do with political affiliation. One of the most liberal people I know is Jewish, and as such loves Israel and everything it does. JFK loved Israel and he was a liberal. Conversely, super radical conservatives such as neo-Nazi groups obviously hate Israel. The Middle East is a very conservative place and they hate Israel.

    It is obvious that Israel's policies have done nothing to benefit themselves. Israelis should ask themselves "If we've been fighting the same way since the 40s, and we still cant get on the bus without being afraid of suicide bombers, obviously we're doing something wrong."

    Though no one should say that Israel doesnt have a right to exist. Both sides are wrong in this war.

    Hezbollah succeeded on all fronts. They are still there and have a large influence in the region and in Lebanon. They still have the soldiers. They are more popular than ever in Lebanon. Numerous renomated magazines and journalists and alanysts have concluded that the victorer was Hezbollah. The rockets attacks NEVER STOPPED TROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE CONFLICT.



    Israel failed on all fronts. Hezbollah is still around. The soldiers are still captured. Although they destroyed a large amount of rockets sites they never succeeded in negating Hezbollah's rocket offensive power. As said, the free press concluded Hezbollah won the conflict. In polls a majority of the Israelis said they didn't believe anyone won the conflict.



    And now let's see who spent the most money... Oh boy, oh boy. Deploying 30K soldiers. Day and night air raids. Ammunition. The massive cost of dead soldiers (they're expensive to train). Of course the cost for Lebanon is much, much higher. Israel spent about 1.6 to 3 billion US dollars. While Lebanon lost a staggering 7 to 15 billion US dollars on the war. BUT, the objective was to hit Hezbollah, not Lebanon. And the damage to Lebanon is less than equal to the loss of influence and respect of Israel in the region.



    All in all... Best army in the world or not... They lost.



    21th century warfare isn't about land-hopping or raising flags on parliament houses anymore. It's simply about reaching goals, at as little cost as possible.

    And yes, the plebs in the world may regret this loss of romanticism in war...

    Yeah they kick some a** alright.  All the kids picking up cluster bomblets from that 6 day fiasco in lebanon had just enough time to read "made in the usa" before they got their "a**es kicked" too.

    Interesting facts:  The US has 3 machines that produce the standard NATO ammunition.  2 of them are located in Israel.  The US military is not allowed to use any of the bullets produced by those 2 machines because the bullets were produced on Israeli soil.  Tell me we aren't trying to destroy ourselves with our rediculous political correctness.
