SWG player needs new game help!

Ok im looking for a game that has "player cities" or some sort of placeable customizabe housing like swg had and has a good crafting system.  tried wow and eq2 didnt really get in to them.... an suggestions?

    Man, I'm right there with you.  I'd love to find a game where I can have a "home", make a player city, craft, and have that interdependency thing going on with the community.  I've tried WOW and EVE Online.  In the free 14 day EVE Online demo I couldn't get to a point where I was crafting.  I herd they had good crafting but it is so freeking hard to learn and play.

     

    If anyone has any suggestions for the SWG disenfranchised, I'd sure appreciate it.

    join the club with the rest of us SWG exiles. their is no real home for us. so just find a game with your old swg guild and make the best of what game you all land in. thats the best we exiles can hope fore,

    Well i guess ill just wait for EMU.    But i just dont know how they are going to keep it running.....   I would think there is going to be alot of server down time, but i guess ill have to wait and see ....... I dont like waiting

    Vanguard is pretty decent

    It does have its problems and player housing leaves a lot to be desired (very costly and each continent has an island that is the only place you can build your house).  But it does have a lot of the spirit of SWG (and a lot of the dev team).  If anything its worth a  try.  Check one of the community forums and see if anyone has a buddy key they can give you (10 days of play to decide).

    Second life has nice housing and crafting....

     

    Anyway...i don't think you'll find something that quite resembles the old swg you are looking for.Most games have only parts of what was in the game you look for.I read a lot of SWG players and eve online players are gonna try out pirates of the burning sea but it does not have housing.Games with good housing and crafting are hard to find i think.I don't know bout age of conan...but could just look at all the games on the mmorpg.com site and check if they have housing and crafting and ask in the forum of the specified game how it is.

    Eve online indeed has great crafting in my opinion.One of the best i may add and a lot better then SWG has/had.But eve online takes you a few months to really  get the feeling of the game.

     

    That's also the downside of the swg vet-players i think.I am not flaming or anything but i been to the vet forum a lot..had a bunch of discussions there too since i still play the game.Most are looking for some sort of copy of what it was....understandable at some point since the game got ripped under your feet....but unfortunatly there is no such thing.Trust me i played loads of mmorpgs and none i found resemble SWG.My luck is i take every game on it's own and try not to compare it to another mmorpg i played.
