Problems with the name filter.

The name filter seriously bothered me.  It won't let me use the name Yaisha which I've used for years because it sees it as "gibberish"

It also wouldn't take any of my backup names, most of wish are nordic origin (what tolkien based most of his languages on)  and yet, I saw the following names once I logged in-game.

Xxdikkxx

Ganndalfthewhite

How did this crap get past the language filter?  I'm not a big LotR fan myself but my boyfriend offered his Tolkien Dictionary (lol...) to help me pick a name, since everything I had tried was rejected and I ran out of ideas.  (and most of the prefixes and suffixes from the "naming guidlines blurb were already taken, and who wants to use a name they got off the paragraph on the char creation screen?)  I started picking words out of there, the first three were rejected before it finally took the fourth.

Don't get me wrong, name filters don't always bother me as long as they arn't letting retarded names like Xxdikkxx through.  If Ganndalfthewhite is ok, I don't really see whats wrong with Yaisha.

    If you msg a GM in game or email tech support they should be able to fix it for ya, they did fro a friend of mine at least.

    Have you tried it since todays patch?  They were removing the rule of no more than 2 consecutive vowels... I think they are counting the "sometimes y".

    I'd say Yaisha should get through after the patch. If not, they should be able to manually change it for you if you submit a request.



    Customer service ought to be able to do something worthwhile, seeing as how as of yet they just greet you 3 times, tell you to submit a bug report, and tell you to "Enjoy your play time in the fantasy world of Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar." =P
