I m kind of disappointed not with the game but with the review.... writers and "reviewers" tend to forget that the scale comes from 1 to 10.... when someone say (quote) "Role-Playing:7 This score should not reflect the game as a whole. It is low because... ...but really this is more of a strategy game", how can someone reviewing a game even say such a thing since, first thing first, 7 isnt a low score it's pretty high, second, in a game where RPG is almost inexistent by the words of the tester how can it reach a whole 7... Can we really trust that kind of reviews... I won't.
yes, that is the problem. and then, they give EVE a 6 for roleplaying . reviewers need to sit down and define some concepts, such as "good", "poor", "average" and so on, and then rate the games and compare individual grades on one game with the rest of games.
it is ok that diferent reviewers give diferent ratings and have different tastes, but there needs to be some guidance. a 7 cant be a low score on some games, and a high score on others.
Having said that - I can see some people would like it.
I am not so bothered about the score of the review but the lack of negative comments....I have lost a little repect for the In-house reviews if this review is now the "standard"
Its like there is nothing wrong with the game...and I can tell you there ARE a few things that are wrong with the game.
Like calling it a MMO - its not much more than a Multiplayer RTS game with some MMO elements ( but nothing worth paying $15 per month for) - in my opinion.
and as said previously - 7 for Roleplaying - when the reviewers comments reflect a lower score ?? ( you can't even group up !) - very odd.
Garret, if you were interviewing for a journalists job and laid that review down as an example of your work, you would literally be laughed out of the building.
I hope you can look back at this and realize the many mistakes you made and correct them in the future. There is no excuse for shoddy journalism. If you can't look at a game with a jaded eye, you have no business in this profession.

it is not a problem with high scores. the problem is about consistency. a 7 cant be a "good score" in one game and a "low score" in another. when mmorpg.com re-reviewed WoW, it seemed that they had only numbers from 7 above, even when the reviewer said that some parts of the game were really poor or bad designed, the score was never under 7. meanwhile, other games get a 7 for their very best feature getting all kind of praises from the reviewer.

its better to have your customer try it and you will have the chance will get subscriber
instead of people turning away because they have to p2p before even trying out the game (gameplay video does not count)
