Other hallmark of stupidity can be found on ebay.

Jedi account(padawn only so a lot still to grind) for $1000 atm there and people are bidding for it.

SWG credits 10m for $100-$150.This makes me wanna reactivate my account and sell lol considering I have 60m credits there and items worth another 10-20 LOL.

People are stupid enough to buy.Fact is lazy people will remain lazy. They have no sesne of fun and just want a top character asap. The one I am watching now is CoH.It is quite popular atm  and would like to see how much dummies will be bidding for level 40 characters when they appear on ebay.

Check ebay its there already.Just look thru and yyou will see people advetizing selling levelling time.

Basically you give them your character and state which level you want and pay the fee.The one currently on ebay charges $200 for levelling your character from 60-65.

Apparently they are quite professional at this and have fixed prices and a network of people  doing it 24/7.Also there was a popylar group a year or so ago that would give you a tim period like 3-4 weeks or so.If they fail to level the charcter in that time period you only pay 50%.

So its there already. This is a multi million buisness.

ROFL that truly is sad, paying $45.00 a day to get leveled, that is so ridiculous. And the sellers, my god, they have like a big team of people spending 24/7 leveling up, sheesh. Get a job :P

Would be a fun job if you could get it though, levelling a character.

But i really dont see why people play MMORPG's if they dont want to level their characters properly, thats the whole fun of the game gone before you even play. If you just want to be hard and kill people go play quake or CS etc.

Haha Darkman. No offense but telling people to get a job if they already have one is stupid.

Back in 2001 to 2002 I made approx 900 Euro a week while spending 7 hours a day gathering some of the best items to sell on Ebay. This was playing Diablo II.

    7 days in a week, 900 a week.

    900 divided by 7 = a little over 128 a day.

7 hours work, 128 divided by 7 = around 18 Euro an hour.

How much do you make per hour? And all I had to do was sit down and click a mouse and press a few keys now to chat to my friend who was part of the 2 man business. I make small amount of money back then compared to the sellers out there.

Now, as for the sellers offering levels for 45 a day, most of them consist of 5 man teams.

They make around 200 dollars a day and split between 5 people. Each person gets a decent amount for their work.

Let me just retype all of this in a few simple lines.

Character Leveling and Item selling is a big business, some small businesses who specialize in this make over 4000 $ a day with only 20 members. Split that between 20 and you got a nice daily profit.

What next? Another immature comment saying "Get a life"?! It really bores me to have to type these messages because of someones inability to think before they type.

Well this has been going on for a long time and most companies have not been about to stop it on occasion companies like mythic has won court cases and done minimal damage to stop it.

Some sites that sell and buy are based in countries that do not have laws to cover this too.

I beleive what he meant was get a PROPER job. we could all earn lots of money by selling crack outside junior schools. But we dont because its not a proper thing to do, neither is selling things like that on E-bay. tsk tsk.

They may not be able to do anything about the site etc, but surely those people whose accounts are being artificially levelled or advertised for sale could be banned. It must be in the licence agreement that they cannot make any money from the game (i havent read it and probably never will and one day will sign my life over to some company or another)

Most that advertize their accounts for sale use an email unknown to the companies. And those that professionally farm gold or credits or pp or whatever are smart enough to use pre paid cards thus making it possible to give fake details.Close them down they simply use another.

The real problem lies with the professional traders not those that got fed up of the game and decided to trade off(and most would even sell to the professionals)

Fact is most companies have so little CSR as it is they hardly have time to trace anyone.

I mean if they seriously wanted to do much about it surely they could get ebay to stop adverts as its the biggest source of mmorpg stuff atm. They have it in their terms and agreement that they own the characters and services don't they.

Only company i ever saw make a serious challenge was mythic and they long since given up.They even went to the point of tracing a warehouse in mexico that hired people to play and kept a lawsuit.

However the mexican government heard of it and got them on tax evasion and they ran away hehe.

Maybe the best this is to remove the terms and agreement and let people sell as they wish. Those that want to buy will buy anyhow. All that would happen is the professional traders will go out of buisness as the value of th goods will drop with people selling directly.

well any american going into this business is just silly. you got to look at the math man, 45 bucks a day, and look how long it takes to lvl..obviously its a few people playing the same char for 24 hours a day. thats less than 2 dollars an hour, plus im sure the boss takes a large cut.

you can deliver piza for 2 hour a day and make more cash. selling your acount/stuff when your done is just found money(although i dont agree with that either) but as a business..this is not american business.

Hmm but I personally believe that there is no such thing as proper job. Let's say you have an a lemon and a lime. Which one is "proper"?!

A proper job is only dictated by the laws of society and if we go into more details about this, we can talk about how those who can't work often get punished more then those who can.

Let me give you an example. In order to get a credit card worth anything, you must have a decent credit rating. I've seen all these cards where they say they'll accept those with even no credit rating, but they all turn you down anyway.

In order to get a loan worth anything, you must have a steady financial income or have something worth alot of money (IE, own your own house). Society generally admires those with more money thatn those with less and same goes for government.

See, the poorer people get less support when it comes to getting help. Hell, if you're rich need some surgery to make sure you live it will get done ASAP. Now if you're poor and........Well let's just say it's a longer trip and takes more work.

So all in all, a business is a business and money is money in this world. Take from the poor to feed the rich is the most common method used by government businesses and most of everything else.

A proper job is just a title and there really is no such thing. Everything is extortion in the eyes of the government. They'll protect you if you earn money, if you don't they'll throw you on the street and hopefully a non-government organization will help out.

Anyway I won't go any further or I'll probably get flamed. I happen to be quite poor now as I have no current job. I have 3 disabilties and cannot work other then the computer, so any chance I get to work for a year or 2 making 500 or more dollars week I'll be sure to grab it. And no, I get no extra income for being disabled. It's all part of the save money thing they do and i am not going to spend 2 years fighting for my rights. Hell I'll sit back and make my own money when I can.

What choice is there for someone who has lost their use of their legs and is also homebound agoraphobic as well as living on their own. What other jobs are there for me to do?

    Later.

  • herculeshercules Member UncommonPosts: 4,925

Ok personally i care less who sells or who buys.If you are dumb and lazy enough to buy then i say sell.

However when it becomes a problem is when it affects the game

    2 games come to mind.

1)EQ.it is very group oriented and to learn to play a class well takes time.Ever been in a group and some level 60 enhancter with epic comes to group. You make the pull 4 mobs come all blue and not underbosses or anything. You think hey its safe .But no suddenly everyone dying enchanter busy blasting mob.Well doh ebay guy now makes you run 1 hour for corpse and lose 5 hours of experience.

2)SWG.Now not really a problem but in the first few weeks so much money was duped and sold on ebay that the economy shattered. And most of the dupers were in fact professional traders .

In a stable economy with a game based mostly on soling i think i careless who is ebayed. He can run around with his zillion gold and level 10000 char and i am not bothered. As long as the player has little impact on others then its not a problem. But if a ebay char  is gonna cost me a day's worth of gaming experience then it is a problem.

If it was a case that seasoned players bought ebay stuff then its cool. They know the game and have a good idea what to do.But most accounts bought as ebay are low level players who after a few days players say"no way i am gonna spent months levelling.i will just buy a high end char".
