Does it get...dark?

Well my computers power supply died, and my m0b0 along with it. It was going to cost over 200 bucks to fix so I just bought a new one. However, my new m0b0 doesn't support agp cards so I have to suffer with the onboard one mine comes with (geforce 6100) so suffice it to say I can't play Vanguard until after I"m married which is when I'll have money again.

Anywho, I played LotRO for an hour or so and the game was very bright and bubbly. Has anyone been able to experience any higher level areas which are, you know, darker and more evil looking? Such as dark dungeons, moonlit swamps and the like? I just happen to like my game a little scarier than lush rolling hills of clover.

Re-Downloading LotRO onto the new HD at home as we speak.

Yeah it gets dark.  It looks like a 5 year old did the night sky though.  It doesn't look pretty like in EQ2 or other MMO's.

Barrows Down, Old Forest, Burring dead bodies is a little gritty , as well as North Downs and the epic Quest line starts to get darker as you follow Amdir . So yes , the content will get dark, and with updates it will continue to get darker since that is how the books go.

    who me ?

That has to be the single funniest statement I have ever read on this board. Obviously this is your first marriage. Congratulations and take a close look at those funny paper things in your wallet with pictures of dead presidents on them , you will not be seeing many of those after the wedding.

    I miss DAoC

There are certainly darker areas, bleak ugly mountaintops and muddy swamps with thick fog.  Look for the closest bog on the map and check it out a bit.  One of the coolest things I have seen in the game was a thunderstorm at night in the mash near Bree.  There are several marshy areas in the shire too.  What race did you star with?
