YUP.  Maybe if we hate this guy enough all the other real racist problems will go away.  The media couldn't be happier, this guy is one of their own, LOL.  It's like a freakin shark feeding frenzy...this guy is done!!!

P.S.  wonder what the labels on his brown couches say?

he called some basketball players a bunch of nappy headed hos.

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

Let's all get on a high horse and put on a moral crusade against him! WEEE

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Blah, it wasn't even a racist comment. Not all black people have nappy hair. If any thing you could get him for using a derogatory word for a female.
  • AgiaAgia Member Posts: 35
I'd rather be a nappy head hoe than a bald head hoe. Niggas don't fuck with no bald head hoes.

can i get someones interpretation of the adjective "nappy headed"?
  • TechleoTechleo Member Posts: 1,984
Nappy is basically what you would describe hair which is dirty and clings to itself. Generally something your see after a nap

Of course there are some more derogatory translations of that as well I wont repeat.

What he said was wrong but isn't there such thing as freedom of speech or is that just a myth?

I actually just watched and heard of what exactly he said when I posted that video.  Watching SC and other sports channels, also the news, I actually was thinking he would say something worse.  I personally thought it wasn't that big of a deal, thinking about Howard Stern, and how he actually used the "N" word freely in some of his shows.

    Here is what confuses me.

Im sure you have all heard of the NAACP and the Nation of Islam right? Both organizations claim to be for the advancement of people and the downtrodden and overlooked in the world.

But the fact of the matter is that there is 4 times the amount of slavery CURRENTLY in the world than there was when it was abolished in North America.

So instead of working to abolish it completly they choose to go after Don Imus who btw is a multimillionaire. So what if he loses his job he has a contract worth 10 million dollars a year!!Im pretty sure he is going to be ok!!!

Im not saying what he did was right but at the same time why dont i ever see either organization attempting to abolish slavery and help people who are truly forgotten?

(btw after his 2 week suspension his ratings will go through the roof)

    What is your physical limit?

I remember Stevie Wonder singing about being nappy headed.  It must not be too bad of an insult.

And I see black women listening to rap all the time.  They talk about "ho's" all the time in those recordings, and those black women shake their booties to it.  So that must not be bad either.

    "I Wish" - Stevie Wonder

    Looking back on when I

Was a little nappy headed boy

    Then my only worry

Was for Christmas what would be my toy

    Even though we sometimes

    Would not get a thing

    We were happy with the

    Joy the day would bring

The only Freedom of Speech you have is:

    Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Meaning, the Gov't cannot prevent you from speaking your mind. There are, of course, some common sense exceptions to this, such as shouting fire in a crowded building, etc, because it endangers the lives of others.

However, I suggest you quote the First Amendment after calling a group of black women Nappy Headed Ho's, and get back to me on how that worked out for ya.

Speech isn't free, hoss. All speech has a price. You come into my house, call me a cocksucker, and insult my woman, and my son? Expect to leave my house in the prone position.

It's called a double standard.  And it's a much bigger threat to our nation than racism is anymore.  And when you couple that double standard with political correctness, wooooweee, look out below!!!!

    There's that.

I do have to wonder if it isn't some sort of manufactured publicity stunt as well. Something like the numerous starlets who feel they aren't getting enough attention in the press, so they "accidentally" flash their goods while getting out of a car. In this case, Imus make a comment purposefully designed to get people all worked up, he then gets a "suspension", acts appropriately contrite, and maybe takes some sensitivity course, or spends some time at a youth center in a predominantly black area, which makes for a great photo op, and Bang! Instant ratings.

This was not a publicity stunt for Imus. The NBC execs just canned his show due to all the incomming pressure from the FCC. What he said is being totally blown out of proportion and he is getting crusified for it.

Its sad really, I blame the liberals.

Here's the really good part about this whole thing though.

Have you been listening to the various interviews on t.v. and radio about this whole thing?  I think the black organizations and the "black leaders" (like a group of people in America need a leader), all thought this was going to be a grand ol time for them to come out and whoop some whitey ass.  But instead it's blown up in their faces.  I even saw blacks on t.v. last night telling other blacks to STFU with all the racism charges because it's nothing but harmful at this point of our countries evolution.

99.999% of white people in America have gotten over the racist B.S. of the past and are ready to accept black people and move on.  But it's these racist black leaders and organizations who want to drag this out for their own purposes and publicity.

I didn't say it was a smart publicity stunt.

Imus may well just be an old racist pigfucker. But I could just as easily see his agent having lunch with some PR drone, and drumming up this idiotic scheme, that sounded great on paper, after a few martinis.

    Bingo!

Jesse Jackson is reviled and rightfully so by many (if not virtually all) who understand his tactics;  he pressures major corporations that do not hire a certain percentage of minorities by threatening to picket and launch a very public boycott of their products/services.  However, if the corporation "donates" to his RAINBOW PUSH COALITION, although they do not hire people based on race (regardless of qualification), Jesse Jackson will suspend his pressure on the company. It is all about M O N E Y, politics, publicity (to promote books, obtain more awareness to obtain more members, etc.)

You can learn more if you read SHAKEDOWN by Kenneth R. Timmerman.

Al Sharpton is another one, as are a number of "civil rights leaders."

It is profitable for them (and their organizations/churches and those that work for them) to convince us that racism exists and is a problem.  I am grateful for the Don Imus incident as it EXPOSES the fact that there is no genuine civil rights problem in the USA.

    Cheers, USA!

Edit:  the only group that I think can make legitimate claims of discrimination are homosexuals; there is still very real prejudices against gay individuals in public and private institutions of society.

    Excellent posts.

99.999% come on now lets be a little more realistic. I would say 85% at best.

How about we all start throwing out arbitrary numbers that we made up for the sake of argument?

    I say it's more like 73.7%....discuss.

I can tell you with complete honesty that I would have to really think to come up with a person I know who would discriminate against a black person.  I'm not even really sure if I could think of one.  And it's been a LONG time since I heard a white person I'm around make a legitimate racist comment.  I just don't think white people care about racism anymore because it's not an issue for them.  Maybe some people from the much older generation (like 60 or above) but white folks (like myself) are so far over this whole racism stuff that it's nothing for us to consider anymore.  I don't look at a person and judge them just because they're black.  I have black friends a plenty and I love every one of them.

The only thing related to black that I can't stand is the ghetto culture.  And I hate that for what it does to black people and society as a whole.  I wish from the bottom of my heart that there were some way to convince people who think that culture is cool that they are making a mistake.  But it's something that some black people define themselves by.  And they are doing nothing but hurting their chances of ever being successful and convincing themselves that they are different and outcast, when they are doing it to themselves.  But I know I'm not racist, because I do not want them to fall for that garbage.  I want them to be just as successful as the next guy.  They deserve the American dream just like the rest of us.  I just wish the ghetto culture would go away and let them be free.

Don't know about where you live but, here in MO you would probably find at least 1 in 10 people that are racist to some exent.
