How can a site that states they support NDA's of betas ,then operate an open forum on the exact topic they claim they are in support of?
I know they may give out bans for offenses but in essence they are in violation of NDA's for operating a site that encourages it.I think games should think twice about this place when handing out betas.
If the moderators havn't the knowledge to call a forum >>> PRE BETA DISCUSSION,then maybe it's time for real moderators.
READ the title of this forum and tell me if everyone else doesn't agree that this is two faced and setting a double standard?
FORUM TITLE cleary ,very clearly states OPEN BETA DISCUSSION.What exactly did they think people are discussing in here?the time of day the weather?
I might also add before anyone starts laming off with "You don't like the rules you can leave attitude"this isn't about me,it's about the site that puts them self out into the public eye and all game devs,to see what kind of antics they are pulling here.

Normally if a game is in Open Beta, they'll let just anybody sign up. Doesn't sound like there's a need for an NDA, if ANYBODY can sign up for the game at that time and play.
So you're confusing "Open Beta" and "Closed Beta". 99.9% of Open Beta's don't have a NDA. And it's becoming increasingly popular to not have a NDA during Closed.

Open beta and Closed beta are two different things.
There is no reason to have NDA during open beta, since anyone can freely play the game at will. If the forum was called "Closed Beta Discussion" then you'd be right, but it's called Open Beta, and most companies suspend the NDA before the open beta.

LOL, by the time I posted this 2 responses beat me
No that is my point!there is no open beta discussion before a million threads already.Look no further than vanguard/LOTR/Dungeon runners.Look no further than the posts, there is not one post in that forum that is related to an OPEN beta.It has always been this way here in this forum. They are all discussing games DURING closed betas. There is no other forum for betas this IS the only one and there wil be threads EVERY single day on games under NDA.Posting pictures/links all are forms of discussing a game. What's even funnier is when this site is offering freebeta giveaways, there is ALWAYS a link discussing what to expect in the game.Look at dungeon runners wich is not open beta, there is a million threads on this already in the last week.Ya ok your not allowed to discuss it but first they do is open up a discussion on it lmao,no locked thread ,free to discuss.Wait a minute ,maybe it really isn't in closed beta/referral only, maybe there trying to be real sneaky here.Oh wait are you allowed to discuss closed betas here if they have a PAID aggreement/working arrangement with the game?lol i guess so.Maybe they just like to operate under a diuble standard here.
Even better yet,why would you post beta key giveaways in here ,where it is clearly an open beta discussion only, see the point yet?

That is entirely the point. Open betas do not have NDAs. This forum is for discussing pen betas. Closed betas do have NDAs. They have different names becauase they are different things.
The beta key give aways are to allow members of the site who have interest in a title learn about it before release. They accept the key knowing they can not discuss it while there is a NDA in effect. People have a tendancy to not read thigns before they agree to them, but that is their fault not MMORPG.com's.

What he/she said :POpen = no NDA.
Closed = NDA it's just that simple.
It is common for people to get confused between the 2 but even if a beta is open but only accepting a certain amount of people, people can still talk about the game and there is no NDA in 99.9% of cases.
I see people have answered (correctly) already.
What is important is not what stage the game is in but if there is an NDA in effect. In theory a game could be released AND have an NDA, but that would be very impractical.
