I posted this in the devs corner but i dont think many people read that. So here is is again.
The first type is your base stats.
IE strength, endurance, dexterity, intelligence, wisdom, charisma.
These ststs should begin on set numbers depending on your choice of character, and you should maybe get a few points to play with so you can be slightly more unique.
The second type is pre-determined stats
For these i mean things which you do at the stats which will only change in rare circumstances.
For example you could have stats for fears, and cover things from fear of spaces to spiders etc. And you may give the user 30 points to put into these say 10 different fears, each point representing a % chance of panicking when faced with your fear.
You could also put things like magic resistance in hear, or mostly magic weakness, in the same way as for the fears, but giving a chance to resist/get extra hurt by magic.
I think negative stats like these would help you create a much more individual character and would really make you choose your path much more carefully, for example you could choose to put 30 points on clostrophobia (Spelling?), but then you wouldnt be able to go dungeon crawling, but if you spread them about evenly you would never know when that fatal bit of panic would set in.
And thirdly you have your variable stats.
These are the main stats which make up your character. Each character type would be able to increase any stat, and they would increase through use. But depending on your character type there would be a limit in how far each one could go, for example a mage could only get swords to 20 out of 100, and a fighter could only blacksmith to 65 etc. This would allow for any character to do anything he chose, but he would not be as effective as somebody who dedicated their life to that chosen area.
How do people feel about this? Does this seem good to you? Any comments?

I think it´s an really idea. But the the negetiv stats shopuldn´t get to high. The positive should be sepperated in to two different stats....the combat stats and the other stats(like smithing or fishing). A bit like WoW ecsept for the negetive stats.

Yo.. feer will bring much inovation to the game.. and it should work in a way that the more people are in the party the less they will fear ) and for example a paladin or someone with leadership will be able to help people with fears if they stick to him But i wouldn't.. i like to feer so can i ask for doubled negative resistance?
