im trying this game out and im curious as to the server populations of the four servers. for those who play: what server would be the most "newbie friendly" or does it matter?

I would certainly stay clear of De Gamma...that seemed to be the worst hit from the duplicating exploit bug...the economy there is totally screwed...with the guilds of the most prominent known exploiters top of the guild rankings......No coincedence that that server is pretty much like a grave yard now
Rats I might be on the wrong one - what's it's position on the sign on screen ? My first alt is on the bottom right server, the one i've been developing is bottom left. not sure I fancy starting yet again.
-- Active : World of Tanks Beta, Navyfield (NFEU despite GM bias) Past : WoW, DAoC, CoH, Eve, Voyage of Century, Warhammer Beta, Planetarion, various MUDs (during the 80s)
I assume it's been sorted now. The server's population might be ppicking up - there are some big ships out there and the noob ports seem quite busy (well Athens anyhow), but Genoa and Instanbul do seem quiet.

I dont completely understand the details of it. All I know is that when DaGamma was new, they had a lot of server rollbacks to fix some errors. A player discovered that after one of the rollbacks, his silver had doubled. He told a small number of trusted friends about this and they all made an agreement to further test the bug and to not use it in a way that would be exploitive but only in a way that would fully investigate the bug so they could give a concise report. When one member of the group violated the agreement and began exploiting the bug, the person who first discovered it reported it to IGG via PMs to forum mods and the forum admin.
The bug has since been corrected on all servers. However, the actual exploitation only occurred on DaGama because it was the only server that had roll backs during the time that the bug was discovered.
True, Da Gama is kinda unbalanced right now. We assisted the BlackKnights in their last war with Myth and the battle only lasted a few minutes. If my memory is correct there were 30 defenders against 9 attackers and yet the defense was crushed like bugs. Myth's military might was a product of duping while the other guilds are working very hard to earn it.

Not to mention there are alot of active guilds. Reveants, SeaEmpire, The Black Hand and various other guilds
give a regular supply of pvp events. Albeit The Black Hand pretty much rules the world at this point.
