I played CoH a while back. I also played COV beta and began the game upon its release. But that was a while back and I haven't been in either in a long time.
I also returned when they added the new zone for level 40 and up, I forgot the name of it. I think its called something-ville. Anyway, I couldn't play that zone due to my graphics card I think. When I tried entering that zone all the colors went crazy on me and I couldn't see anything. So I wasted the money for the month I had paid. I've since upgraded my comp so I wouldn't have problems now.
My question is, anything new? Anything worth going in again? Or is it like before, not too many players and gameplay the same way? I checked the games forums but didn't really see anything new except some costumes changes.
Thanks

Also at the moment its about the only thing to play while waiting for winter releases mmo wise.Im hearing reports from people on the test server that inventions are blah,no word on base raids being fixed yet,and server population imbalance is reaching the point of no return. This company needs a staff shake-up.Most of thier issues are standard fair in mmo's,it's just there not handling them.Of course this thread would be deleted over this post on the official site, guess thats there solution atm.
Incentives needed to be given from the start to make lvling villians easy(especially lvl 50 heros, they should have got a /20 or /30 .server pop balance can be corrected somewhat via xp/rewards bonuses. This is nothing new, many games use these techniques,it's basic mmo management.
here too with this ? this is the 3rd post you've made stating this exact same thing.

also since they wont balance them as subs erode,it seems like everyone is re-rollling to 1 or 2 servers. That will lag the heck out of them and problem make some accts. unplayable.
Pick a server other then Freedumb...
j/k.
Actually, if you find a good SG/VG, you're never w/out a team. And finding one is as easy as checking the boards and running some mishs w/ the members.
What else were you going to do? Go in the same cave or warehouse for the 1000th time? How about running the same old missions over and over?
The best thing going for this game is the costumes. That's the one part that Cryptic really got right.
That part is true. The missions are all the same, all of them. The same caves, the same warehouses, everything. That's the main reason players get bored quick, too much repetition, too much.
As far as the populations, I don't know. Seems the only time I saw players was at beta and when first released.
I left, my main reason for leaving was exactly that. The sameness of the missions.
Where i think Crytic really missed the boat on missions , was the meyhem missions.I really enjoyed those and if cryptic had embraced them alot more, by making more of them instead of just bascially the city and cape ones, id probably have been happy enough to give cryptic more money.
Those large open areas, with a main mission and mini missions scatered thruout were fairly fun.If they had created more of them, heck maybe made most of the missions that kind of huge playground, instead of just doorways into some single building, they would have gotten alot more of my time and money.
I even would have been able to overlook their horrible class system much longer, if the content had been at that level.

Do you think CoX subscriptions would have fared as well for this long if it didn't have the costume creator as it exists now? I'm just wondering because I'm of the same mind as others that missions are very repetitive so without excellent features such as the costume creator, other shortcomings (missions) would stand out more.
