VCO (Voyage Century Online) Review?

Hmm...I didn't see much on this game, but having played it since release I decided to post me own comment on it. Now bear with me because this is the first time I've ever done anything really like this.

I've seen at least 2 contests hosted by MMORP which I had rather seen burned (the contests :p not MMORPG for sure) that were for VCO. Both giving out these "point cards" which are pretty much useless in the game because all they do is ruin the economy. But anyway, VCO is DEFINITELY not all it's cracked up to be, especially since they plan to release it in like 4 days, everyone played, or almost everyone, agrees that will fail. Reasons for its downfall?

1: Translations from previous langauge to English are butchered like mad which ruins tons of the quests.

2: CSR's (Customer Service Reps) are all non English, not a single English CSR, you can't explain crap to them unless you have a 5 year old and tell him your issue. No joke.

3: Super guilds already exist. There will and never be any reset, and there's already super guilds in the game, at least 3.

4: The economy is already falling because of in game currency selling websites which are probably run by IGG themselves anyway.

5: The biggest theory around is that IGG is a scam, and the facts to back this up are,

(1) When a silver (in game currency) website advertising account is found and reported, after half an hour of talking to like a 5th grader the GM will finally understand what you're sayin with their $2 translators and remove the account from the game, but you sit in that spot for 10 minutes and BOOM look what's back, the advertiser who will probably now spam.

(2) To forget any skills (although it's relatively impossible to screw yourself over with skills seeing as there aren't that many but it'd be nice to remove 1 skill that you ain' usin but accidentally invested in and move it to a useful skill.) it costs $40 USD.

(3) They created (and by that I mean copyright infringed and completely stole), and claimed it as theirs, another pirate game called Pirate King Online, which is an exact copy of Tales of Pirates or w/e that is.

6:  Every 10 minutes your spammed (no joke, its either 5 or 10) with an announcement to buy a gift brochure from the item shop (average cost is $5) or you're spammed with an announcement that you've already seen before 10,000 times, and there's no way to turn it off. Usually its all spam to buy from the item mall.

7: It's EXTREMELY monotonous (i know i spelled that wrong) it'll get boring real fast, trust me

8: You can't follow any real story because you can't understand wth they tried to translate and butchered to death.

Pros to VCO?:

It's an entertaining time waster? You can spend 4 hours sailing the whole ocean and already have it explored by then.

This game started out great but as of now more people quit than join .  The rating is a joke ....They realesed the game out of beta with the same content aand mistakes ..left the bugs in ...horrible translation and localization isues..

This game could have been great ..IGG decided to doom it by NOT communicating with the players and USING any of the feedback they have gotten to inprove the game .

Right now I see a very short lifespan for it . It is soon to enter the " remember that Voyage game " ? Stage .

Out of a bugged beta with NO changes to rules or bugs , translation or content .

Its a disgrace and an insult to all those who participated in the BETA believing IGG had intententions to change the game for the market it entered .

Its free...as long as you DON'T uuse the item mall ...so hey go see for yourself what they call a finished game ..lol.

maybe if someone registers they will stay alive a few more weeks .

    Why ?

I played Voyage Century Online for a few months and there are alot bad things about this game. But it's a free & Beta game, what do you expect? By the way: Voyage Century Online didn't steal copyrights! Please only post things based on reality. The real thing that happend was: There was a chinese game developer who made a pirate game and sold it to 2 different companies. One of them was IGG and the other one i don't remember. Why so? Because IGG made it a item mall game and the other company made it a monthly pay subscription. Then again, the game is bad translated with alot of typo's but great gameplay and a different kind of MMORPG.

THE GOATMAN COMETH!! BAHHHH!! Hehe heya there ledhed. He was the mighty goat slayer... begging me for skins and textiles..

Oh the days we had fun! Ledhed is absolutely right though. The developers failed there community dismally. I quite and started

to play Oblivion again. Sigh, I miss my guild though

The game can be fun despite all its shortcomings, if you have a guild and some RPing imagination. But in long term, even that doesn't save you from the horrendous GM-player interactions. Talking to GMs and posting bugs on the forums are like talking to one of those squeaky-voiced dolls with a "Try me!" button.

Yes, the game can be fun, but IGG went ahead and bust their arse on this one. Only Mourning can do a more horrible job in treating its players than this.
