It is fun for awhile but nothing new..... sure the leveling curve is a little longer but that means jack. Plus it has a lot of bugs. I wouldnt pay for the game as other games do what VG does better (WoW and LOTRO off the top of my head) I personally dont much care for WoW or LOTRO but I would play either of those because they are basically a polished version of VG. Sure VG has boats and housing but what does that actually mean in terms of gameplay? Nothing.........

Totally subjective.  But it's in a state right now where I'd suggest that if you can't find a buddy key, just hold off for a few months.  I personally had fun with it but I'm leaving because it's not the game I was waiting on...there's virtually nothing new here unless you like really really big stretches of nothing in between quest hubs.

I'll give you an example  of how fun it is.  Walk up your stairs, I know you have some somewhere. Then run backwards as fast as you can back down them.  Then ask yourself was that fun.....same thing as playing Vanguard.

I played for a very brief time but had to move on.  Not because of anything lacking in the game though...I just didnt have enough time to take on a game like this.

Fun?  Yes, IMO it was a good time at the very low levels.  I am a very casual player that cannot devote a lot of time to a game and not risk being being pulled away immediately.  VG is not condusive to this playstyle.  If you have time on your hands, maybe some friends that would join you..yes its a lot of fun!

From my own playing experience here's what I've learned.

Choosing your race is very important as some lands seem to not give out enough adveturing quests or seem to be great till you make level 15 then it's hard to quest because you need a group or that land doesn't cough out quests to make you level past 13.  In goblin territory, I reached level 13 and had to go elsewhere like to Khal.  Goblins are hated so then you have to fight monsters for faction before you can quest.  That sucked.

If you are getting bored of questing and adventuring the good news is, you can craft, work on diplomacy, go to look for plots to buy and once you get bored of that, you can go back to adventuring.

If I were you, choose Morbedi as your first race because there are so many quests around Khal and outposts.

Humans, halflings, high elves arent a bad choice either.  The land of thestra has more players it seems (at least on the server I am on) so if you need a group you will find one better.

This game is also visually pleasing but you have to have an updated computer to play it.  You also must have a dvd player on your computer.

I stopped playing wow to play this game and I actually like it but I just cancelled.

Get a key and try it out. You will either hate this game's  guts, especially if you like polished  finished games, or it will make you forget any other game ever existed for a few months.
